The Wharton Park Stonehouse pub and restaurant is an absolute gem and a real credit to the area. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with a warm, welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel instantly at ease. It strikes the perfect balance between a relaxed local pub and a family-friendly restaurant. The food is consistently excellent — generous portions, great value for money, and a menu that caters for everyone. Whether it’s a hearty pub classic, a freshly cooked grill, or something lighter, everything is well prepared and full of flavour. The carvery in particular is outstanding, with tender meats and a fantastic selection of sides. Service is another highlight. The staff are friendly, attentive, and genuinely happy to help, creating a positive and enjoyable experience every time. Nothing feels rushed, and they go out of their way to make sure guests are looked after. The pub itself is clean, spacious, and well maintained, with plenty of seating indoors and out, making it ideal for families, groups, or a quiet meal. Overall, Wharton Park Stonehouse offers great food, excellent service, and brilliant value — a place you’ll happily return to again and again. Highly recommended.

We've had iffy service here years ago and tended to avoid it but friends organise a gathering here so we tried it again. The app ate my Wednesday £8.99 burger code (as usual) so my friend was forced to place the order. Totally out of chicken burgers so chanced the top of the range beef burger. Really poor quality, big hard bits of grissle and it didn't stay together, really dry and weird tasteless stuff on it. We'd finished the meal, 45 minutes from ordering, still no sign of the drinks. Asked at the bar, no apology, no dispute, they were too busy to make them, choosing to prioritise people ordering at the bar who had ordered 2 minutes ago over a 45 minute overdue order. It still took 10 more minutes and it wasn't just us waiting. This isn't a great pub, you can get better burgers and service practically anywhere else.

We went there on the 28th October, took my grandchildren and the food was really nice and everything was good, as usual, but yesterday I got a letter from a company called Euro Car Parks with a £100.00 parking charge!! It is horrendous, I only parked in the normal car park and as far as I know. This is wrong to let your loyal customers get a sneaky £100:00 charge for just parking in the pub carpark.

The food is good for the price. The carvery is lovely - tender meat, lots of side dishes (sometimes the veg can be a little watery, but I've not had a bad meal there yet). The pizzas are made by hand, and are really tasty. The staff are friendly and helpful, they are very good about dietary requirements and allergies. There are some days it can be a little noisy in one part of the place, but it's big enough that you should still find a quiet corner I've given it 5 stars for food because you get a good meal for a very reasonable price

Popped in for a drink after work and always a pleasure. Lovely staff who we always have a good laugh with. Di and Zoe are a double act and work so well together balancing having a laugh with regulars and welcoming new customers too. Always a pleasure popping in.

Lovely pub restaurant, always had a friendly reception from the staff. The play area is small but safe, the kids love letting off steam before a meal. The only reason I have marked one star down because on my last visit the meat was that fatty I couldn't eat it so ended up with a plateful of vegetables. Although this has happened once so would still return in the future. Also the pizza are amazing.

After Christmas Dinner was cancelled at the last minute (covid related) we ordered a click and collect carvery on Christmas day. It was delicious and there was so much. Even my dog had a chunk of beef. The staff were lovely and very helpful. I would rather do that every year now. No expensive turkey to buy, no cooking and no cleaning up to do. Thank you Stonehouse.

We havnt been here for a long time. So we decided it would make a nice change. We ordered our drinks, after being told everything my husband and kids ordered wasn't available they remember mine. A simple hot chocolate. They gave me a cup and a sachet of instant hot chocolate and told me where the hot water was. Then we ordered food. Again half the menu wasn't available. We ordered a sharing chicken selection starter. 2 pizzas and a roast. Our main courses came out before the starter. The chicken had the majority substituted to over cooked chicken dippers. Which we think was the cause if serious stomach cramps for all of us that night. The pizzas were OK but very little topping. The roast potatoes tasted like they'd recycled them. The female staff looked disgusted at our mere presence when ordered however the male staff especially from the kitchen were lovely and helpful.
