We had a fantastic experience at this fish and chips spot! The food was fresh, flavorful, and honestly some of the best we’ve had — perfectly crispy batter and delicious sides. The view made it even better; it’s the kind of place where you can sit back, relax, and really enjoy the atmosphere. It was also wonderfully kid-friendly. Our children were comfortable and happy the whole time, and the staff were incredibly warm and welcoming. Overall, a great place for families and anyone looking for excellent food with a great view. Highly recommend!

By far the best fish and crispy chips I’ve had in recent years. The cod goujons were divine, light batter, delicious fresh fish.

Some of the best Fish and Chips I've had in years. The Haddock was firm and flavourful. I thought chips were chips until I came here. I can't put my finger on why but theirs were just better. Highly recommended

We stumbled across this place by chance after a walk in Porthcawl and fancied a bite to eat. We ordered the fish, chips, and mushy peas, which was incredible value for money, especially at under £10! The portion was generous and more than enough for us both. I also asked for a sauce recommendation and the staff suggested the Irish curry sauce, and wow, it was AMAZING. So glad we tried it!

A gorgeous fish and chips in a light airy immaculately clean, restaurant overlooking Porthcawl seafront. Staff were also lovely with my little girls and great baby change facility!

Went out down Porthcawl for few hours and got some chips. What I lovely chippy. Really nice chips can't beat the chippy and for the price

Staff were friendly and attentive. We walked into the takeaway side and decided to sit in the restaurant as the weather was awful. Although the prices were more expensive to sit in I can see why. The restaurant was clean and tidy and decor is nice and modern. Me and my partner both had cod and chips with some sides and the portions were massive. The cod tasted lovely and fresh and we especially loved the Irish curry sauce. Overall a lovely experience.

Visited the boathouse while visiting kenfig, they do battered chips, now at first I genuinely thought that they would be same as some other chippies in Wolverhampton, but no I was surprised to see that they were fully battered, I think I went too battered on this occasion as I also had a large cod too, allthough the fish was split on two. The actual restaurant had a takeaway on the side and unfortunately wasn't advertised as the takeaway section. I did find it strange that another customer asked to sit in the restaurant, but was told that if they did it would be more expensive. I did find this odd. Overall I would definitely recommend the boat house for the battered chips, they cost £3 for a portion. The customer service was also good, they were friendly and polite.

Nice clean veggie options on the menu but 3 attempts in and all were out of stock. Very nice chips, cheese and beans and friendly staff. Good to give choice of plastic or wood. Might be good to use compostable trays instead of styrofoam.
