   My R170 SLK developed a strange whining noise from the auto gearbox then started losing drive whilst out on a run. I took the car locally and without looking into it too much they said it needed a complete rebuild which due to the cost, really wasn’t worth it on my old car. Having made a few phone calls RMD were recommended to me and from the moment I spoke to them I knew this was the place to go. I was given a few possible causes and the costs/options available which were much more in-keeping with my old Merc. Took the car in and a few days later it was done for a fraction of the cost of a rebuild. Finding RMD has saved my car from being sold as spares and for this I’m really grateful. Would highly recommend.

   Wanted an automatic gearbox service (fluid and filter change) and I spoke to few places before a chose this one, and glad I did! Car (Lexus IS250) felt much more responsive afterwards, gears quicker and more eager to change - made the car more lively! Squeezing the throttle now sees fast and more frequent downshifts making power more direct and quickly available. Differential oil also changed at same time. I supplied both the diff and transmission oil myself, which he was happy to use. (Although they would have otherwise supplied their own) Good price, nice guy, great to talk to and relaxed. Price was good. A full description of work was provided and helpful advice given.

   This is the best service I've ever experienced. The staff are very knowledgeable. I had an issue with the automatic gearbox of my Peugeot 107. It was challenging to find a reliable mechanic in the area, including Manchester. We contacted numerous garages due to the urgency of the repair, but only this one accommodated us promptly. Other garages suggested that the issue was with the gearbox. However, this service suggested there could be other causes. After dropping off the car, they resolved the issue within 2-3 hours. The problem was an incorrect system setup. The car now runs smoothly. I'm grateful for their service and recommend them to everyone. The only downside is that they specialise only in gearboxes. With such excellent service and customer experience, I wish they offered a broader range of services.

   I cannot recommend RMD enough. Rob was so helpful from the very first time I contacted him about my vehicle. I feel like he went above and beyond to try and fix my car and save me money. He communicated every step of the way, explained what was happening and spent the time researching the most economical solution for me. I would absolutely use Rob and his guys in the future.
