   ABSOLUTE JOKE. Booked an MOT thinking I’ll use Halfords as it’ll be quick and easy and I can book online - it’ll take 2 minutes … i was VERY wrong. I got an email immediately after booking telling me I’d been charged but not given an appointment and I needed to call customer services. Spent 10 mins on hold and then got cut off. Ended up on live chat and was told by the agent that it would be 7 days before a specialist team could contact me about a refund. So…one hour after trying to make a quick MOT booking and I have been charged £50, don’t have an MOT booked and I’m waiting 7 days for a refund…my advice - don’t bother booking with Halfords. I should have tried somewhere local!

   I had taken my car in for a service a small repair job, they performed the service as expected in a quick and orderly manner, the same was performed in regards to the repair job. They are very knowledgeable and efficient in their work practice. The staff on the premises was very friendly and helpful, always polite and explained things in an easy to understand manner after each job was performed. I would take my car back for work there again if any issues arise.

   These guys are fabulous I cannot recommend them highly enough. I take both cars there now as the service is amazing ! Special shout out to Ellie on the desk. She’s professional, kind and knowledgeable as well as extremely understanding when delivering the sometimes bad news! In fact all the staff I’ve dealt with there have all being extremely good! Please don’t let the big high st brand put you off because this garage is run with all the professionalism and care you would get from that local family garage and considerably cheaper than the main dealers. Thank you guys!

Ellie the receptionist is super friendly and the manager Anthony is very knowledgeable and helpful. Won't do work that is not needed and at a fair price. I know my car is in safe hands.    Went in for MOT, they told me it would cost at least £2K to fix and implied I should consider scrapping. Went to another local mechanic and it cost £40 to get it through. My assumption is that someone liked the look of my T4 and wanted me to scrap it through them. The other mechanic also pointed out that the major work was massively exaggerated and showed me some of the problems directly (Corrosion in wheel arch, oil leak). They also said that the break fluid was contaminated (it's discoloured because the previous owner put snazzy fluid in, I assume they just looked at it and checked it off as failed), the other mechanic actually did some kind of test on it and it was fine. Just go local. EDIT: i've noticed that someone recently had a similar experience

   I've twice been to Halfords Autocentre in Shrewsbury during the past year and, each time, they've done small repair jobs on my car without charging. What a pleasant change nowadays to get your car repaired but not get ripped off!! Anthony, the manager, is a really decent bloke and this type of thing restores your faith in human nature.

   Reserved a time slot but when I arrived I waS informed they couldn’t do the work for 2 hrs. So after a wait tyres were fitted, and the next day one tyre was flat (faulty valve) . Will not be using again.
