Order: 1058348626 B&Q has compromised on quality. This is a £35 hardwood plywood from B&Q's cutting service. It exhibits many spikes, even when cut along the grain, and contains a significant amount of dark dust. I contacted customer service, but they refused to acknowledge or address this issue, insisting it matches the advertised quality. B&Q not only damages your project but also wastes your money.

The female staff member at the collection counter was extremely rude. She had a bad attitude even before I asked anything, and she treated the customer before me in the same way. I explained that I couldn’t find a product on the shelf, even though I knew exactly where it should be, and simply wanted to check the stock as the website showed it was still available. She refused to listen and just kept saying “no”, repeatedly insisting she couldn’t leave her counter — even though I never asked her to. Because of her rude behaviour, I asked to speak to the manager. When the manager arrived, the staff member claimed that I asked her to leave the counter, which was untrue. Unfortunately, the manager accepted her version of events without listening to mine. Another customer behind me witnessed everything and was shocked by how I, and other customers, were treated. Very disappointing customer service, especially as this kind of behaviour seems to be tolerated by management.

Amazing help from a lovely staff member called Liz. Helped us find our paint that was showing up in stock but was hidden away deep in a pallet. She also made our son very happy with a colouring in sheet. So helpful and friendly! (pls give her a pay rise :))

If IKEA and a botanical garden had a DIY lovechild, it would be B&Q Milton Keynes. First off – parking? Plentiful! I parked so close to the entrance I thought I’d won some sort of loyalty raffle. And yes, it’s massive. Like, “I went in for a pack of screws and emerged three hours later with a hedge trimmer, two geraniums, and a barbecue” massive. The garden section is basically Kew Gardens with price tags. Rows of roses, daisies, and even that fancy lavender that makes your garden look like Downton Abbey’s front porch. Indoor, outdoor, flowering, climbing, potted, scented – they’ve got them all, short of giving them names and national insurance numbers. Need a drill? A hammer? A light fitting shaped like a spaceship? The hardware and lighting aisle is a rabbit hole of pure DIY joy. Lost a screw? You’ll find 247 varieties of it here – and probably three staff members who actually know what they’re talking about. Speaking of staff – top marks. The carpentry and furniture crew helped me build half my living room just by pointing at things with confidence. In summary: B&Q Milton Keynes isn’t just a store – it’s an adventure. Bring a trolley, a budget, and low expectations… they’ll exceed every single one.

There is a lawnmower and garden tool staff member in this B&Q who has a sort of OCD-level of focus about setting out products that makes walking around that area pleasing. It was genuinely surprising to me. Whoever you are, please don't stop.

Charlie was working on valspar counter. She is amazing! Explained everything to the smallest detail, and worked it out how to make save around £100 on my paint purchase. Extremely satisfied with her customer services.

This is THE B&Q, the largest, vastest, stock filled shop I have ever been too. There's sections I didn't know existed - there's DIY I've been missing out on because I hadn't visited B&Q in Milton Keynes. Yes, you need a car to get anywhere, and you can't walk or cycle to a non existent high street - but who cares when you've got every tool ever...ever...at your fingertips!! The staff are really friendly too - I got lost looking for the paint, ended up in a different postcode walking down an aisle...when a keen eyed staff member offered to walk me back to more familiar sections. Thinking of taking the family for a day trip in a few weeks, kids will be entertained during half term and I get my 10k steps in too. - Pro: Massive store, friendly staff, all the tools (all of them). - Cons: It's in Milton Keynes
