A good variety of fresh fruit and vegetables, also eggs, pickles etc. Much of their produce is local and it's good to know where your food comes from.
An utterly beautiful little shop with such a lovely atmosphere that seems out of place in Rushden. If I were more local this would be my go to, as a bag of apples, onions, shallots, carrots and potatoes each was a surprisingly competitive price.. But the quality is something I haven't seen in years! Onions that didn't rot within a day, apples actually crisp and fresh, light and subtle shallots that didn't ruin a reduction and carrots that smelled like carrots - such a weird little thing I hadn't taken into consideration after buying bland supermarket carrots for so long.
moved to area recently came rushden as couldnt find peppers anywhere I went and j&p had some they was so fresh and large not like supermarkets soft small ones also got some apples and melon for the kids and cauliflower and the grapes are so nice aswell defo be going back and the old lady staff was very pleasant aswell xx
Rushden, High Street, Fruit Shop near Post Office: was owned by same owner for 50 years, new owners for 5 years: Sensational strawberries... flavour and scent the best we've tasted in years... And excellent value too; nectarines... large, firm and fruity; and... finally, we challenge anyone in the UK to find better cherries than what we tasted from J+P this week - these are cherries not as you know them... We say no more and leave it for everyone to discover for themselves :-) Claire + Al, Riseley
Really nice to see an independent green grocer on the high street. Good quality produce competitively priced. Definitely returning.
