   We had a wonderful stay in The Escape, Joy is a great host. The accommodation was comfortable, spotlessly clean, and the kitchen was very well equipped with everything we needed. The garden is beautiful — the perfect place to relax while enjoying views over the countryside, with easy access to fields for walking our dog. The location is excellent, with a welcoming pub right next door and Lewes, the South Downs, and lovely beaches all within a 20–30 minute drive. We stayed in August and were lucky with the great weather, but the cosy cottage feel and log burner mean it would be just as lovely in the winter. A delightful extra touch on arrival was the homemade scones and jam — delicious!

   We love our visits to the Escape - it's just perfect. The accommodation is spotless, well maintained and an excellent layout - the garden is beautiful as well. We have been coming to stay here for years now and our most recent trip has been without a car. We found it so easy to access as there are bus stops both to and from Lewes almost on the doorstep. Thank you Joy for being an amazing host - oh and for your delicious scones and honey.

   Lovely cottage just five minutes from Lewes. Warm welcome from host and a well kitted out cottage, has everything you will need. Home made scones a nice touch. Surrounded by fields and well kept gardens. Mobile service variable but internet very good.

   Exemplary little cottage to rest and relax. We really enjoyed the peace and quiet in this well planned out and beautiful little get away. The kitchen is well kitted out, bedroom is comfortable and well designed. The shower had great pressure, always a bonus! We were able to easily access beautiful Sussex walks and trails from this superb location. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a luxury stay in the South Downs national park.
