Great area and lovely views, as well as great fun on the water using the Water sports paddle boards, kayaks and pedalos. Fun for the whole family, and my family certainly had fun, friendly professional staff. would highly recommend.

We got here around 2.30pm and asked to hire a child's bike. We were told it's too late to hire a bike, we only hire them for half days. I asked what time they need to be back by, they said I think about 2.30pm. I asked what time they closed they said I think last hire for boats is 4.30pm so when the last boats have come back in we close after that. I said ok well we don't mind paying for a half day for from now until you close (which would have been overpaying, as was less time with the bike than half a day) we could bring it back by 4.30pm for you to make sure it's back in time for closing, please can we do that? No I don't think so. (This was all said by a young lady that didn't seem too sure of what she was saying). Well is there someone else we can ask that would know please? An older man comes into view, seemingly had been standing there the whole time listening. I asked politely the same question, (as the two kids we were with said - please can we?) I got a rude and abrupt - no it's too late to hire a bike. I politely asked why if we brought it back before closing, they were there anyway and we would pay the full price for less time. Same rude and abrupt answer, no we can't do that, it's too late to hire a bike. The sign says nothing about the only time you can hire a bike being in the morning, it only says last boat hire time 4.30pm. If the sign said the time restrictions on bikes then we wouldn't have had disappointed kids who have then got their heart set on it. And for what reason could they not have hired us a bike if they're there until that time anyway? The terrible customer service just tops it off.

Highly recommended! Took a group of 11-12 year old boys for a sit on kayak party today - they had a fantastic time. Was really well organised and the instructors were great. Tilgate lake is beautiful - I took out a paddleboard and had a very tranquil mosey around the lake. They also have pedalo boats which looked like great fun. Will definitely go back!

Exstreemly rude old man working!! Online says cash only no online booking Sign outside the boats says card payments or online. When I asked what information was correct the miserable old man began shouting at me, then he apologied, as i walked away he followed me continuing to be rude. No customer service at all.

I am a beginner at paddle boarding and was looking forward to a SUP session on a lake for the first time after experimenting it on the river (which I absolutely loved). The boards we hired were not sufficiently inflated and we had no ankle leash. I am not afraid to fall into the water but on a windy day I was worried not to be able to reach my board if I was to fall. As a result I lost total confidence and felt my legs shake each time I stood on the board, so I sat most of the time. My partner, who owns his own paddle board had to hire a whole Β£20 session because they wouldn't lend or hire just a life jacket (which most other places do if it's compulsory). People around us were merely using their boards as if on a pool mattress and that is exactly what it felt like.

We enjoyed taking out a couple of rowing boats for an hour. In good weather, the lake is beautiful and it's really pleasant. There are often people fishing and other people kayaking etc. but it's not too busy. I recommend booking in advance, especially on weekends or in school holidays.

The man who works at the water sports counter is not helpful or friendly at all. They do not allow you to bring your own board or kayak unless itβs a certain type, although the website does not specify this so you donβt know this until you arrive, and they make it very difficult for you to have a good time if you do have your own board. Very rude, not someone you want to come across on a family day out. Zero customer service. Will take your money but not help if any problems arise. The staff are friendly and helpful, but not the manager. Beautiful setting but experience let down by this person.
