A really well thought out smokehouse, a bit touristy, burnt ends not as expected, could have been cooked longer for more flavour, brisket was incredible! Onion bloom a little soft, but tasty. Underwhelmed based on own cooking experience and smokehouses visited in USA, but the brisket saved the day!
Perfect place in norfolk for Americans style food. Loved every moment It is quite busy there sometimes, the staff do their best to let customers know that there will likely be delays on food depending on how busy they are. The food is amazing. I had a mixed grill. Steak was cooked very well, but my favourite part of the meal was the lamb. The chicken was also cooked very well and though i dont often have gammon i was pleasantly surprised by how well this gammon steak tasted. Stilton sauce is one of my new favourites. Its a must for any meat. The chips were also quite nice. Portions are good and for a reasonable price.
We didn't book but luckily got a table so my advice is to book. We were not even there at peak season but it was very busy. The service is very attentive so hats off to them. The portions are huge! So whatever you think you'll eat take one dish less. My husband and son both had chicken wings starters. One plain and one spicy. I preferred the spicy. My other half had the oxtail which was a special. He enjoyed that. I had the sweet potato fries and side salad and halloumi fries that we shared. I had the lemon pepper chicken thighs 6 pieces shared with my son. My daughter had chicken nuggets. We tried the pumpkin pie, a seasonal item. Very good and key lime pie also decadent. We couldn't finish! So don't go overboard when ordering. The staff gave my daughter the opportunity to ride on a hobby horse which she was absolutely thrilled about. My daughter wanted the chocolate ice-cream. Note this is vanilla ice-cream with chocolate sauce rather than actual chocolate ice-cream. We had lovely evening but I feel the food was richer than I can eat on a regular basis. So I would recommend a visit to treat yourself at least once.
We visited The Smokehouse for the first time three years ago, and have been dying to revisit since! We finally had the opportunity to return tonight and couldn’t be happier that we did. The food was spectacular, flavourful and plentiful portions. The atmosphere was fantastic and even a magician to entertain guests while they waited for food. Even so, food arrived promptly and freshly cooked. We cannot recommend this restaurant enough. A special shoutout to our server, Kian. Friendly and attentive service. Will definitely be back!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Outstanding food and service at The Ormsby Smoke House! We had an amazing meal here — everything looked and tasted incredible! The portions are huge, the presentation is spot on, and you can really taste the quality and care that goes into the food. Between us we had the smoked meats platter, burgers, and sides, and every single dish was delicious. The ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender and coated in a rich smoky BBQ sauce, the sausage was perfectly cooked, and the brisket was so juicy. The burgers were thick, full of flavour, and cooked just right — proper comfort food! The sides were just as good — crispy fries, creamy coleslaw, sweetcorn, and onion rings that were perfectly golden and crunchy. We also shared a dessert afterwards, and it was the perfect finish to the meal — light, creamy, and beautifully presented. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and happy to chat about the menu. The atmosphere was relaxed and family-friendly, with great music and a proper smokehouse feel. We’ll definitely be coming back — highly recommend to anyone who loves proper BBQ and generous portions!
Fantastic service and a really impressive looking restaurant! Very busy, definitely would recommend booking! Portions are very big, even for our family of big eaters! Food was above average, we ordered hotdogs and burgers only, and we felt there could've been a slight improvement to the quality of the food, especially the burgers. I suspect if we had got steaks and other more barbecue related foods, it would've been better. Cost was quite reasonable.
This is the best American food, I have ever had. Came here whilst on holiday, from the old American cars outside, the themed interior inside was very authentic. All I can say is the food was amazing and I would recommend to anyone. Prices slightly on the higher side, but for the ambience and food quality definitely 100% worth it.
Saw the restaurant advertised on a roundabout advertisement board. Glad I spotted it as we had a fantastic meal! The food was cooked to perfection and tasted even better. So much choice on the menu, would definitely come back again. Our server Michelle was very friendly and helpful too.
