Not a bad supermarket but it needs more local competition to make it more price competitive, especially as the town grows. The demographic of Wem is towards the retired/elderly so I am gobsmacked to find that they have put yet more self service tills in, leaving only two conventional manned ones, leading to long queues when I was last there (no-one was using the self service tills). Other supermarkets are going back to conventional tills and I am disappointed that the Co-op is so out of touch with its customers.

Used to be a decent store but like so many they have reduced the number of manned tills and put in more self service checkouts. They want us to do their job for them. Nice staff but been in today to pick up a couple of things but the delicounter has gone and no longerstock my fav pies, Jones. Gluten free also seems to have disappeared from it's section to be replaced by Coca cola lol. Won't be shopping there again.

I don't think I've ever been to a more miserable supermarket. The staff and customers alike are completely ignorant. Maybe they could sense we weren't locals?? You also have to pay for parking which is ridiculous IMO.

This is the only supermarket within 8 miles, so definitely a 5*. There is a large selection from fresh veg to homeware, deli, fresh bakery and a decent “free from” section. It’s not the cheapest but there can be some really good special offers if you look around. One other thing I like is that they stock local producers foods, like the range of Pimhill oats and the handmade cakes. The staff I’ve met are all very friendly and happy to help. With the co-op you would never have to leave Wem. However, when I do my big shops I will go into the big town.

Brilliant staff at Wem Co op. Lady at the till pointed out I could save money and have more product and then she left the till to get me a different packet size. Going the extra mile and its truly appreciated :) wish all customer services were ran like this. Well done Co op

This is the only grocery store in the town of Wem. It has most everything you need but certainly could use some competition as the prices are higher than the stores in Shrewsbury. The staff are great and very friendly

There is a person who spends time interrupting members of staff whilst they are working. He doesn’t buy anything, just shouts his conversation being a total distraction. I went in this evening and he was eating his takeout and spluttering everywhere. Not only is this a nuisance but also a health and safety issue. He has been banned from other shops for same thing. This needs happening here

I live in Wem and would love to shop in Wem and not travel but the co op is far too expensive , the staff are nice and friendly. The car park (you have to pay ) often has litter , I pickup lots and put it in the bins provided . The bloke on the trollies is not bother when you tell him there are lots left down by the cut through . He is always a misery but I still smile and say good morning , it costs nothing , all the others are very nice .The inside of the store is clean . Wem needs more affordable shops .

The store is well stocked and has a good variety of food to choose from. The staff are lovely and refreshing. FYI, you get 10 mins free at the car park. Tickets are cheap enough if you need longer.
