Came in after my doctors text me to say a condition they had been treating me for needed to be seen at A&E. Was a little put off by the male nurse that registered me who said "well if you're already being treated by your doctor and have antibiotics, our doctors won't do anything and it's a 5 to 6 hour wait . How wrong he was, after 6 hours of waiting after my bloods were done I saw a very helpful doctor who arranged for me to be admitted and put on an iv course of antibiotics. Don't be put off at the registration stage.

Yesterday we went to children centre in Bedford Hospital , the doctor check our boy and he said nothing to worried about, after that we went to kettering hospital and they check him properly and give him antybiotic and some virus medication. At Bedford hospital they don’t care it’s not first time when they ignore us and send us home with nothing and after few hours we back again I can tell that Bedford hospital is not good ,and all parents who choose Bedford hospital be safe with your kids .

I am really disappointed with the service in this department. They told me that they can’t do any blood tests, medication not to mention that they can’t arrange to see a specialist. I was with bleeding and needed gynaecologist to see but the told me to contact my gp. Why there is an emergency department really? Why you’re wasting money and time in there? I wonder if anyone really get help in A&E Bedford??? Send me to Cauldwell department to see a gp dr who tried to underestimate my problem by making assumptions that I am stressed out which was the symptoms I had. Again told send me to my gp. I had to go to private consultation and it was discovered a serious problem. Why do I pay huge taxes every month as I don’t even get help with anything

Last night in Paediatric A&E - it was busy and long waits however the team are wonderful. Lots of frustrated parents who of course want to get their kids seen and home, and yet the nurses and doctors still smile in the early hours. Thank you x

Had 3 major hypertensive crisis BP was 230/158, apparently this is not an emergancy! Bloods taken was discharged with in a few hours of being admited. This happened 3 times, the last hypertensive crisis resutled in me fiting and I collalsed and yet again was discharged within 3 hrs!! Quick ecg was done and chucked out. Totally disgracefull, worst A&E ive ever attended, its not busy as most people chose Luton & Lister hospital as Bedford is so bad.

Just got back from Bedford a&e department The staff were very friendly a lot of test done on a friend with some results helping us understand what’s happening and referrals being made for further tests. We are very happy with time everything took and the attentive care that was provided Thank you to all the staff

I unfortunately had an accident and had to visit Bedford A&E department on a Friday afternoon. I was expecting long waits and it to be super busy. I was in and out within a reasonable time and all 5 members of staff (signing in x2, triage nurse, x-ray and final Dr/Nurse) I encountered were kind, polite, sympathic and helpful. Thank you Bedford A&E department.

I would genuinely rather take my chances with death then ever go back to this horrible A&E. I was covid positive and couldn’t breathe. They ushered me to a room and completely forgot about me. I was so dizzy that I was falling off the chair. I was physically sick. After 2 hours I went to find someone who said I'm next on the list and a dr will see me in 15-20 min. Another hour past and I went back and the woman just shrugged her shoulders at me and said they are busy. I get the drs may be busy but there were so many nurses. Usually there is a triage, someone speaks to you, does vitals, does a pain threshold etc. I eventually self discharged. The security guard is lovely.
