Fred’s the best! This is the second time he’s fixed my back and honestly, I wouldn’t go to anyone else. He knows exactly what he’s doing, explains everything in a way that actually makes sense, and you can tell he really cares. Walked out feeling brand new again.

It happened in what seemed like a routine training session —nothing out of the ordinary. I planted my foot to turn, went to accelerate, and I just felt it. A deep pop in the knee, like something had snapped out of place. No contact. No warning. Just a sharp pain and the instant sinking feeling that something was badly wrong. The diagnosis came quickly: a torn ACL. At first, it was crushing. I’d been playing at a decent level, feeling fit, confident, and ready to push on. Surgery seemed like the only option. But that’s when Fred stepped in. Fred’s Guidance: The Start of the Journey Fred’s expertise in rehab and performance was a game-changer. He convinced me that conservative management—a non-surgical route—was not only possible but, in my case, the smarter long-term decision. That was the first key step: trusting someone who truly understood the body and the demands of football. Fred didn’t promise a quick fix. What he gave me was something better: a structured, progressive plan split into micro-steps. Each phase built a foundation for the next. He made sure we respected the injury, but never got stuck in fear. It’s never easy with Fred you have to work hard push yourself beyond what you thought you could . But you reap the rewards . The Micro Steps That Changed Everything 1. Control the Swelling, Regain Motion In the early days, the focus wasn’t on football—it was on getting the knee to calm down. We worked on swelling management, getting full extension back, and slowly regaining flexion. It was boring, but crucial. Fred kept me focused, reminding me that every inch of mobility mattered as fluid was still in the knee from the tear . If I could eliminate that I could start to get some good range of motion . 2. Build the Basics Again As soon as my range returned, the real grind began. We worked on quad activation, hamstring strength, and glute stability. Everything had to be symmetrical. If the left side was slacking even a little, Fred would spot it. Every rep had a purpose. Every session had a goal. Times where I’d be exhausted losing motivation Fred was there to pick you up and excite you about this journey . 3. Neuromuscular Control Next came the work most people skip: retraining my brain and body to trust the knee again. That meant balance work, reactive drills, deceleration mechanics. We were laying the groundwork for real-world movement—turns, cuts, sudden stops. That’s what football demands, and Fred knew it inside out. Fred introduced an ABS braking system so I sort of wasn’t as heavy footed . Learning to absorb force in all directions was critical because it improved my landing mechanics helping me be more confident when I returned . 4. Strength to Power Once my strength markers hit the targets Fred set, we progressed to power and explosive work. , box jumps, resisted sprints. Each movement was measured, refined, and monitored. I was becoming an athlete again, not just someone recovering from injury. Fred’s a big advocate for what gets measured gets improved so for example jumps like broad jump and triple jump are measured to ensure distance is increasing and there’s symmetry between both legs . 5. Football-Specific Conditioning Finally, we took it to the pitch. Fred designed return-to-play drills tailored to Step 6 demands. Change of direction at speed. Repeated efforts. Position-specific patterns. It wasn’t just “getting fit”—it was about being ready to compete. And not just compete—dominate. The Return Months later, I stepped back onto the pitch. Not just to train—but to play. I wasn’t just back. I was better—stronger, more balanced, more explosive. I knew my body inside out. I trusted my knee. And I had Fred to thank for that. His knowledge, his structure, and his ability to break down the process into micro-steps kept me moving forward. He turned a devastating injury into a platform for growth. I came back stronger than I ever thought possible—and with a deeper understanding of performance and resilience.

I have been seeing Fred for a number of months following a long term ankle injury. During this time, through exercises that fit into my daily routine in a lighthearted manner, I have gone from having significant pain and swelling when walking to being able to work up to and sustain running 5k. I would highly recommend Stronglines, particularly where your body is limiting your ability to hit personal goals.

I had 5 sessions with Fred for upper back pain when training and right from the first session I noticed improvements with the mobility work and drills he gave me talking me through them all clearly so I understood the purpose of them. The sessions felt incredibly productive with him listening to where any pain was and right away knowing movements to add into my warmups to fix it and with each 30 minute session I felt so much more confident going into my upper body days and now being able to train pain free.

Visited Fred for a couple of months, with a trapped nerve in my shoulder/neck. I needed to have an MRI Scan but was unable to lay flat and still in the machine. After visiting Fred, he was amazing, pushed me forward with exercises and advice. Last week I was able to lay completely still in the MRI Machine for 90 minutes. I still practice several of the exercises regularly, which enables me to undertake my daily working life as a builder. Highly recommend Fred. Many thanks Dean

I was suffering with tendentious in my knee after twisting it on a run, a colleague recommended to go to Stronglines to see Fred, he was brilliant, showing me different exercise routines each week to strengthen my knee, after five weeks it all paid off and i ran a half marathon with no side affects. great set up and very pleasant staff.

I started seeing Fred about 12 months ago with lower back pain that literally took my breath away with every cough, sneeze and movement. I went to Fred with a copy of my MRI scan results and from them and his extensive knowledge he worked out what would work best to not only sort my back pain but get me fitter and stronger. Fred has completely pushed me out of my comfort zone over the past 12months, he has got me running and I have recently completed my first ever 10k and I have recently purchased a weights bar with a selection of plates so I can continue my exercises at home. My day to day life has completely changed as I am now either pain free or have the knowledge to know how to alleviate the pain. THANK YOU! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Fi

Early in the year I signed up to take part in my first half marathon, during my training I became injured and really struggled to put a run together. So my hunt began for a good Physio. I found out about Strong Lines through a friend who highly recommended them. I found it easy to book an appointment (theres two options, book online or call them) I've used both booking services and found it very easy to get an appointment. When I first went to Strong Lines I was greeted by very friendly staff and made to feel very welcome. I found them to be very knowledgeable and really helpful when it came to sorting out my injury problems. After a number of sessions I found myself ready to take on the half marathon, unfortunately my injury was too close to my half marathon date so I couldn't get a 100% out of the strengthening exercises I had been set, but what they did so was help me get around in a respectable time of 2hrs 20minutes. After I completed my first half marathon I decided to sign up for another race and continue to visit Strong Lines to help me get ready for this. Not only did they take me through even more exercises to help my knee, they also set me on a half marathon training plan. With all the help from Strong Lines I managed to complete my second half marathon in a time of 1hour and 54 minutes. I highly recommend strong lines for their professional attitude, they are very knowledgable and really help you when it comes to working on those injury problems. Big thanks to Fred and the Strong Lines team
