The monorail is really good! It took about 5 minutes to get from the monorail near Galactica, to the main entrance! Though queueing up took a bit of a while, (about 10-30 minutes) it was a good ride! Though be aware that even if there are signs to say not to vape, some people still will and you can't do anything about it. Windows don't open (they didn't for me when I went anyways) but it was a good view. You can't see from the outside inside, but from the inside you can see.

It feels like the monorail is solely operated with car park to theme park passengers in mind. Using it as a way to get around the resort at non-peak times can be torturous and slow. It took us nearly 40 minutes to get from the park entrance to the waterpark due to a limited number of trains, and a very slow boarding process. We had to queue every time we used it, not because of demand, but simply because of limited capacity and slow boarding. I don't understand why we have to wait on the ramp, not in the station. I can stand on a train platform and have trains fly past at 100mph, but not when a slow moving monorail limps into the station? It slows everything down. Add in the operator in the cabin also being the person who unlocks the gate, it all adds unnecessary faff.

Good way to travel to and from the park but can have a bit of a lengthy queue at times. Would be nice if the windows were a bit more see through as the advertising on the outside of the monorail is blocking the visibility of being able to look outside.

This monorail is located next to the Alton’s Towers hotels and water park. The wait is pretty short and allows a quick access to the parks front gates. There’s no charge for using the monorail. The staff were really friendly and ensured we had a carriage that could fit a large pram. Overall the stations were clean. There are some vending machines located within the building. The monorail ride provides a view of the park and audio description of what’s available in the park.

Clean, efficient, useful and novel. Links the main car park and entrance to Alton Towers, avoiding a 15 minute walk. Unfortunately there is always quite a long line and boarding takes a long time too. However it's nice to sit down when you do get on and relax for a short time. You get some park views on the journey. During peak busy periods the line to enter will be out the station and around the corner. At that point, it will be definitely quicker to walk the mile to the entrance, but there is quite a steep hill and may not be suitable for all.

Did the job, got us to Alton Towers! We were not even there on a busy day but the queues were so long, so the wait was tricky with a small child. We decided would be quicker walking back which it definitely was as it was not moving at all!

Loved it! Up there with 13 and Rita as my favourite ride. Also has the added benefit of slightly lower height requirement so my 9yr old could ride with us.

Long queue, just about to get it when it broke down, 20 min walk with a child to the Theme Park is not something you dream of. Early rides entry provided by Alton Towers Hotels was ruined.

Other reviews are spot on, the monorail itself is clean, spacious and convenient. But there can be really long queues which are not helped by the staffs inability to fill the carriages, so a lot of them have space for another 2-4 people.
