We had an excellent lunch at The Green Man, absolutely lovely! The food was fantastic. We tried the fish finger sandwich and the chicken sandwich, both of which were delicious, and the beer-battered onion rings were perfect. Great atmosphere, friendly service, and tasty food. Highly recommend visiting!
We booked an overnight stay at The Green Man whilst visiting The Shuttleworth Collection at Befordshire. It was our first visit to the Green Man and what a gem of a find it was. The room was lovely, comfy and cosy. It was also lovely and warm for us on arrival which we really appreciated. The manager Guy and all the staff were really friendly and made us feel so welcome. The pub is immaculate and looks so pretty with all the fairy lights inside. We had a meal there on the Saturday evening and we also had breakfast the following morning, and the food was delicious. We absolutely loved our stay as everything is run so well by Guy and the staff and we will definately be back to stop again when we are visiting the area. We had our wedding at The Green Man Inn this weekend just gone. Would recommend! The team were great! From the waiters bringing out food, Guy the manager and the chefs. They were great with our requests, giving us plenty of freedom with set up/ decorating and nothing was rushed. The function room was more spacious than expected, allowing everyone to dance and mingle. The warm lighting and fireplace completed it. We also had a hotel room which was very neat and tidy, the bed was comfortable and the shower spacious. Couldn’t fault it. Exactly what we needed. To finish it off we had a breakfast which really perked us up. If you’re considering having a function here - don’t hesitate! :)
We had Sunday lunch here today and my daughter and I both agree it's the best Sunday roast in a restaurant we've ever had. Also the staff were polite, friendly and very attentive. Desserts were yummy too. We had the crumble, sticky toffee pudding and the kids had chocolate brownies and Ice cream.
Well, we arrived early for our meal and were seated straight away, great. We were not, however told about the specials, but deduced it was curry night. We chose our curries to only to be told that both were sold out so we re-chose. The tiddly house red wines that came with the meal were OK but I chose to have an extra pint because the curry was supposedly going to be hotter and I wanted a longer drink. There were no chutneys or sauces for the poppadoms (a bit oily and soft) but when I mentioned they did say that the price of the pint would be deducted by way of recompense, fair enough. The curries were the last portions they had (this was 7.30) and my lamb rogan josh a bit small but, whilst not much lamb, tasty enough. I ask for the clotted cream on my dessert but got ice cream instead. When it came to the bill we had to go to the bar to pay and they'd deducted the price of the pint but added a glass of wine. Not sure how how that happened but, no drama. Overall the experience was alright but kinda expected better when the restaurant was less than half full, you also have to book, according to the website, (but they only took 20 mins to confirm the booking). Probably would try elsewhere next time but 3 stars, I feel, is fair.
I stayed at this venue on the eve of 25/12/22 Christmas night.when we got to our room we found that the sheets had not been changed there was a big stain on the sheet and on the pillow so we had to use the spare pillows and sleep on top of the quilt this was supposed to be a superior room but the cleaners let it down shower walls were not clean. Also the room was supposed to be a superior room but was very small with no hangers. I told the staff at breakfast but they declined to come up and see the room we have taken photos of the room ready to post we did show your staff the photos and all they said was we will inform the manager.this room was supposed to be a superior room but judging by their own room photos it was a double room but paid for a superior room.
Christmas Day meal... From walking in the door to the moment we left we had a lovely time. The service was amazing, friendly and welcoming. The food was perfect we all really enjoyed it even the fussy ones. I know Sue and Mike from a previous job so was lovely to see them both. They chatted with us all and had a laugh. Highly likely to book again for this Christmas. 10/10
Attended a private function and stayed over. The service was great, the room reasonably priced and the breakfast buffet was one of the best we have had. I would definitely stay again and would recommend it to my friends
It’s clear on the photos “they advertise” that they’ve done up 1 maybe 2 rooms but this isn’t the case for the rest. Luckily for me, I was only using this place for a stop over so literally just had to sleep and leave again. My room looked like something from the 70’s with the added addition of walls with bits missing, mould throughout the bathroom and a shower I felt like if I used, I’d come out dirtier than I went in. Staff are non existent, so trying to check in you literally have to go on the hunt, breakfast again, no staff. You feel criminal just letting yourself in and eating without ever seeing anyone ! On a plus, breakfast was nice. I wish I could add photos to this review but Google doesn’t let me unfortunately.
