Good location and the individual rooms each accessible directly from the car park was ideal for me, however the rooms are tired, the pub opening times and when food is available variable so we had to eat out on our first night at the only place open on town at 7pm as they had stopped serving. We didn't want breakfast but there was no reduction from the B&B rate. The food was OK when we did eat there, pub grub but nothing special. The road outside was very noisy throughout the night. Overall quite disappointing and poor value, the Travelodge on the other side of Thrapston has better rooms at less than half the price.

Stopped by for Sunday lunch today and the food was excellent! The beef melted in your mouth and my wife's salmon was cooked perfectly. The star of the show though was the blackberry cheesecake (picture attached). The staff were very attentive and polite and the place had a lovely atmosphere. We'll be popping in here more regularly.

We held my brotherβs wedding celebration at The Woolpack Inn this afternoon and couldnβt have been happier with the experience. We wanted a relaxed, family-style buffet for a small wedding gathering, and it was absolutely perfect. The food was far better than we expected, plentiful, beautifully presented, and with a real touch of luxury. The service was outstanding; every member of staff was polite, attentive, and genuinely caring. Nothing was too much trouble, and every little detail was looked after. A small issue arose during the afternoon, and it was dealt with kindly and professionally, a real credit to the team. Special thanks to Dan, the manager, who was a pleasure to deal with throughout the booking process and so helpful on the day itself. We would highly recommend The Woolpack Inn for any small celebration. They helped make our family day truly special, and weβll definitely be back soon to dine in the restaurant.

Well what a little gem this turned out to be. I was invited to a celebration of a friend, I live 7 hours away so thought I'd book a room. As soon as I entered the place I was greated by a member of staff who welcomed me and booked me in then escorted me to the room. I had a great evening the bar was really busy but every time I went to get drinks I was quickly identified by bar staff and served. The room was, as expected basic, clean and comfortable. The full English breakfast was probably one of, if not the best, I have ever had in a hotel. The staff at breakfast were welcoming and attentive. Keep up the standard you have created you all should be very proud. A huge shout out to the chef. Thank you.

Kind staff, good food. Only negative is that the beer selection is not my favourite.

Good food for a lunchtime bar menu. All four of us had burgers and they were tasty and filling. Staff very friendly and helpful.

First time eating here as an unplanned treat on our way home. 1 of the adults meal of homemade pie and mash was very tasty and child's meal of steak and mash also was fantastic. However the other child's meal which was burger and chips and adults meal of short rib beef with mash was not great at all. The burger was overcooked on the outside, pink inside and gristly so our 4 year old struggled to eat it. It also came in a hard toasted ciabatta style bread not a roll as expected with a burger so he was unable to bite it in one whole piece due to the size. (Not described this way in the menu or we would not have ordered) Also chocolate sundae had dark chocolate nibs and drops not buttons as described so was bitter and had a dry powdery aftertaste which unfortunately again was not what was described on the menu. The adult meal of shortrib was tender however the garlic mash and red wine jus was too salty store than half the meal was left. Someone came to ask as soon as food arrived however we hand not started to eat it yet as one adult and child in toilet. By time they next came 2 of us were done and it was some half hour later we were asked again then if everything was OK to which we advised the person of the above. The lady apologised but no offer was made to replace the meals or alternative offered. Unfortunately catching someone's attention was difficult during the meal as there were 2 people serving/taking orders. If we had been able to get someone's attention we would have said something sooner. A very hit and miss evening with it being 50/50 excellent and very poor. A shame as we do not often eat out as a family due to costs rising and at just over Β£70 for 2 adult mains, 2 kids meals, a kids desert and 4 soft drinks, it made an impromtu weekday meal disappointing to say the least after hearing mostly good reviews.

We had a lovely Christmas dinner here on Christmas Day. Staff were happy and friendly, which was great. The only thing is we didn't get our glass of mulled wine which was part of our Christmas Dinner package.
