We have stayed a number of times. We have seen steady progress in modernisation. The snagging process does not progress as effectively. No hanging rail or hangers. Had to run hot water in the wash basin for a time before any fully hot water in bath or shower, but no instructions, trial and error... Bath/shower very very slow to drain. Nevertheless the room was very comfortable, and we will stay again.

Disgusting by the hotel. Booked for 27th April along with other people all been cancelled and they have put the price up by £70-£100 as they are aware event that day. Will make sure no one else books here due to disgusting selfish behaviour They are going to lose out on a lot of business on the 27th due to them being greedy

Stayed here whilst visiting family in the area. The hotel staff were friendly and welcoming. We booked a standard double but the room felt small and a little tired. There was a socket on the wall that wasnt screwed in and a crack in the wall by the wi dow. The bed was comfortable and shower hot and powerful but it was difficult to cool down. Breakfast was delicious. Would stay here again when in the area.

Reasonably priced hotel, room very tidy and clean. Staff friendly, will advise on breakfast after checkout tomorrow. Surprised I had to pay £5 to park the car, but otherwise no issues.....

Very small room but nicely furnished. No draft beer, no crisps or nuts in very dull bar, you also have to pay £5 for hotel car park.

If you are expecting a good night's sleep this is not the place for you. I stayed here for work and after a long day on Monday I was looking forward to a relaxing meal but unfortunately there is no food served on a Monday even though my company had paid a food allowance for the night they didn't reimburse me. Now to get onto the rooms, my room was quite spacious but very hot even with no heating on and the place only being single glazed. The beds I received were two smaller than single beds from the 1970's which matched the rest of the decor in the building. There were more antiques in the place than the roadshow! All in all not a great experience and I won't be staying there again although I can't judge the food and drink as I didn't have any

The staff were very friendly and welcoming. We had dinner and my chicken salad starter was delicious. However the fish and chips were disappointing - no mushy peas which is a must with fish and chips! The bed was very comfy and I slept well. The bedroom was lovely and warm. Breakfast was cooked to order which was great but a bit short on the toast front.
