Enjoyed a weekend dinner with the fam to mark a family birthday. Lovely surroundings in the orangery. Good menu although went to a 3rd choice on the lamb due to a busy lunch service. The vegan among us was as happy as a vegan can be too!

I attended my friends baby shower on Saturday at this lovely hotel. There were 15 of us and we had the beautiful Orangery all to ourselves for Afternoon Tea. The room was very tastefully decorated, the tableware was exquisite and matched the decor perfectly. The Afternoon Tea was the best one that I have experienced so far. We had a vast range of free flowing hot drinks available to us and the the bread used for the finger sandwiches was delightful. The various fillings in the sandwiches were fresh and generous, as were the array of tasty sweet treats that came afterwards. These included scones with homemade jam and clotted cream, chocolate brownies, individual victoria sandwich, lemon and cream trifle shots, macaroons. The staff were lovely and very accommodating, it was definitely recommend this hotel for Afternoon Tea and how they accommodate small parties, such as baby showers.

As always, a very well looked-after restaurant — clean, welcoming, and with toilets that genuinely smell like a perfume shop (unbelievable!). It looks like there’s a new menu, and it definitely didn’t disappoint. Generous portions for both starters and mains, everything piping hot, perfectly cooked, and full of flavour. The staff were attentive and on point throughout. Always a pleasure visiting here — highly recommend and will definitely be back again soon.

Room was really well decorated and comfortable. It was quite loud Saturday morning with deliveries happening across the road but with a great location it’s to be expected - plus it was warm so we had the window open. The food was incredible, catered to dietary requirements and we felt it was good value for money. There were a couple of mistakes on the receipt (undercharged) which was rectified and they appreciated the honesty! Cozy feel to the bar area. Breakfast was 10/10, such a broad choice and good quality ingredients. Food and style of the place was the highlight.

We met up with two friends for lunch. We decided to go with the lunch menu, this included a starter, main course, desert and a small glass of house wine which was amazing value at around £30.00 per head! The food was superb and the service excellent.

Afternoon tea celebration with family to celebrate a birthday. 1st class service in the beautiful orangerie and everyone (from the 2 to the 90 year old) were extremely happy. Thank you to all the staff who looked after us

Firstly- this is not a cheap place to go for a meal. Four of us had lunch, with 4 glasses of wine, and the total bill came to £160 The food is certainly not bad, but my partner had risotto and after it had been served they subsequently brought her another dish out with some items they’d forgotten to put on her risotto-not very professional. The service is not great. When ordering drinks or asking to see a menu you are sometimes waiting longer than you would have hoped. The building decor is lovely, it’s ultimately a nice place to go- but at these prices it just doesn’t quite hit the nail on the head.

Enjoyed a great evening out with my wife. This was the first time that either of us had visited the George in Buckden but definitely will not be the last. The building is fantastic with superb decor and an incredibly comfortable ambience. We were helped throughout the evening by the nicest staff you could ask for, nothing was too much for those lovely people and they all wear a smile. The food was terrific and enjoyed by both of us. We can't wait to come back again and sample some more of the menu. Lovely place. Thank you for helping us enjoy the evening.

I've only been to the bar, haven't stayed here. The bar staff are wonderful and the menu is tasty, thoroughly recommend. The bar decor is beautiful and creates intimate spaces that are perfect to share one on one or as part of a group. Will be back often.
