I led a group of 12 walkers and the lunch at the Stag rounded off a great morning. Everyone enjoyed what they had ordered and the timing was perfect. Thanks Rob and team. Dave M and HWU3A.
First visit to the stag very impressed friendly atmosphere nothing was too much trouble very reasonably priced for fresh cooked quality food. Fish was excellent and very fresh. Had a lovely evening and will be back. Also a dog area which is another bonus.
Nice village pub. Friendly service throughout. All the classic staple dishes plus a few extras. We did like the separate vegan / vegetarian menu. Good value £32 each for 3 courses and 2 drinks each.
Always a fantastic welcome and good well priced food at the stag. Lovely cosy interior varied specials on the board. We pop in regularly and it’s always busy which is testament to the quality of the place.
Beautiful location. Food was nice but each time we've been the staff have been miserable and borderline rude. I'm not sure we'll visit again when other places are a lot more welcoming.
Lovely cosy family pub. Very friendly people, Rob the owner made you feel very comfortable with nothing too much trouble. Small basic rooms, tasty breakfast and meals if you choose to eat there.
Booked a table for 2 on the recommendation of family who've eaten at The Stag. Food excellent, freshly cooked to perfection. Friendly welcome and attentive staff throughout. Definitely going back.
Lovely old pub, staff very friendly and helpful. Room was small but had everything we needed, very clean, nicely decorated and with a good powerful shower. A good varied menu, food was plentiful and well presented, the pub was really busy with very friendly locals. Breakfast was great.
This was our second visit but this time the standard of service and food had dropped massively. Our sharing starter had to go back as it wasn’t cooked properly ( this was after waiting 45 minutes despite there only being three tables ordering!) We waited another twenty minutes- the waitress almost launched the replacement at the table - 5 minutes later then brought more bread which was supposed to be warm but wasn’t . When the main course arrived - it was large and well cooked but the waitress seemed to behave as if we were an inconvenience. Sad to say but I will not be returning ! Having just seen your response to my review - I can give you full descriptions of the staff involved but I’m not sure you would do anything anyway! So I will put this down to ‘ one of those things’!
