Visited The Sheaf Inn after seeing they have won several awards by Weetabix over the years for a Christmas meal with my wife. The pub and restaurant were full of atmosphere and it felt really welcoming. The staff members are so friendly, and although the restaurant was busy, our waitress took it in her stride. We both had three courses, everything was so flavourful and delicious. The menu is varied, giving you so much choice and the chef and team are exceptionally talented. You can tell that the ingredients are high quality and the restaurant prides itself on sourcing locally. This restaurant offers a high-quality meal and would be perfect for a special occasion like a birthday or anniversary. I highly recommend it. We’ll definitely be back!

Amazing food. The pulled beef lasagne was the best I've had. Rich, succulent, so indulgent. Utterly delicious. Lovely staff and atmosphere, with a cosy real fire

What a find! We booked a table for two Sunday roast which were the absolutely fantastic: decent size portions and everything well seasoned. Delightful presentation and attention to details. Service and atmosphere were excellent. We will definitely be back to try your lobster dish on Fish Friday. Well done.

Excellent dinner last evening and such friendly & welcoming staff. This small village pub/restaurant from the outside seems quite ordinary, however all is not what it seems! Such an enjoyable & relaxed dining experience. Menu had an excellent choice to suit most requirements & very good value for money. Plates all well presented and plentiful with each course that was simply delicious! We will be back!

Just had the vegan roasts and they were amazing. Nut roast was clearly made in-house, as was the wellington. Veg perfectly cooked and plenty of food for the amazing prices. Beer was on point too, plenty of Purity to drink!

Went for ‘boozy’ afternoon tea in Jan. Both myself (vegetarian version) and my friend (meat version) really enjoyed the food. Everything was very good and homemade. There was a complimentary cocktail and the 2 for 1 cocktails was really good value too. Service was excellent, never had to wait too long and there were staff often coming and checking if we needed anything else and if everything was okay.

2022: Still a lovely and well-managed restaurant/pub with excellent service and superb food & drink. Just the best. At least 6 stars. 2020/21: as good as below but now with added takeaway and garden, plus a sensible one way system. Special brunch menu was amazing and the seasonal menus are always great. Book in or miss out! 2018/19: Lovely, friendly, relaxed restauranty pub with excellent service. Delicious, beautifully presented food to suit a range of tastes. Fantastic selection of drinks including local craft beers, cider, soft drinks and gin. Staff were flexible and accomodating to meet the needs of our group, including children. Even drinks available for the well behaved dogs in the bar. Highly recommended: eat, drink and be merry!
