Great little cinema. Only just discovered this place. Interesting range of films on offer as an alternative to the chain cinemas. Very good value, clean and comfortable seats. Ice cream, snacks and sometimes wine available. Nice peaceful setting in the University campus. Easy parking.

Lovely small intimate, volunteer run atmosphere in which to watch current films. It's just wonderful - high quality screen and sound, and ice cream to boot. What's not to like??

Well-attended, polite and cozy. We really enjoyed our film but there are a few flaws which are generally out of the proprietor's control in the fact that's it a lecture theatre, not really designed for people to sit still, comfortably, for two and a half hours. There isn't much room between people, so not much elbow room. After one hour my backside was numb. After two hours my legs started to go to sleep. The sound is limited to two centralised speakers above the screen which try pretty hard and offer clarity and some loudness but not much oomph or immersion. Speaking of immersion, there is an access door at the back of the theatre which opened and closed around ten times during our film, casting a bright swathe of light across the seating and drawing us out of the film-watching experience. It's a real shame the lights can't be dimmed or a curtain isn't available, as this snap back to reality can really interrupt the suspension of disbelief. All in all it was a positive experience and with an adult ticket being £5.50 and the site almost literally on our doorstep, we'll be visiting again, perhaps with a cushion and without a bulky coat, and probably for a shorter feature.

Great to have the venue. Good film selection. Volunteers do an admirable job. Audience - one star - as could be a bit more respectful and not continue conversations during the main film. That's a turn off just like rustling sweet wrappers.

Lovely local film place. The volunteers running it are so kind and helpful. The snacks offered are just the right stuff for nibble at a film. Quality of sound and visual more than acceptable.

the film place is a university lecture theater that has been transformed into a cinema. i very much loved my first experience with this cinema because it has nice people, nice seats and of course a nice wide range of very god films. my first film i saw here was rams and I was glad I did because if it wasn't for the film place, i wouldn't of known this masterpiece of a film. you can buy tea, coffee, sweets, ice-cream for a very cheap price and free parking. if you live in of near Buckingham, you should check this place out.
