   My review is more about the Longthorne exhibit at the 2024 World Sporting Clays Championship, which was at M&M Sporting Clays in Salem, NJ USA this past week. Your exhibit was excellent! Your representatives, Jacob and Jimmy, were easy to talk to, knowledgeable, and had an infectious enthusiasm about your guns. I love the quality and innovation, the gorgeous looks and the trigger is phenomenal. My buddy and I are coming to Northampton soon! Be ready for us!. Thank you Longthorne for your US representatives, and I hope to see Jacob and Jimmy soon. Great Job Longthorne!

   When I first decided that I would make an investment into an English made shotgun as a keep sake of my years in England for when I returned the USA, I toured the usual well known high end shotgun manufactures. Longthorne were the only company to invite me to a demo round of clays to try their guns. Jim, not only brought one, he brought four different models to meet me at a clay ground halfway between his shop and my home. As soon as I pulled the first trigger I was hooked. The way the Longthorne shotguns handle and their low recoil due to the design lead me to ordering not just a trigger plate for everyday clay bashing, but a custom 4-barrel set covering all my game shooting requirements. I have used my Longthorne on walked up days in both UK and Norway (chasing Capercaillie) and big driven days. I haven’t found anything else I’d prefer to shoot. On a recent walked up day in the USA, I had to use another gun due to customs paperwork snafu and all I could think about was how I wish I’d had my custom Longthorne in my hands. Elaine, Jim, Owen and the entire team have been great since day one, I’ve had my trigger plate in for service twice – because I hurt it, not because of build quality and the team has turned it around swiftly. You don’t get that level of service from other manufacturers, EVER! I have followed the Longthorne expansion to my native home country and look forward to seeing more people shooting Longthornes!

   I have been the proud owner of my Longthorne gun for around 10 years. During this time it has provided much pleasure when out in the field and has drawn much admiration from fellow guns. It is by far my favourite gun in the cabinet. Whatever minor problems I have had they have been quickly attended to my Elaine & James. My only regret...I wish I had purchased a pair !

   My first visit to Longthorne convinced me that I needed to own one. The trigger plate version was still in development, but I placed my deposit. 4 years later I got to try one with Jim (Mr Stewart) I could not believe I was shooting a 12 bore it felt more like a 20. I have now had my gun for just over a year and to date have had no problems whatsoever. The gun is a delight to shoot and has been much admired by all who have seen it, and even more admired, and envied, by the lucky few who have been allowed to shoot a few targets with it. I shoot Olympic Skeet and Sporting and the balance and stability is perfect for both.

   When I first encountered Longthorne when they launched at the Game Fair, I knew I wanted one! 10 years later, and I finally purchased their trigger plate model with custom stock. I made two visits to the factory to select my wood, then to have the stock fitted by James. I collected the gun a few months later in September 2021. Since then, the gun has performed faultlessly, and drawn admiring looks and comments wherever I use it. It is by far the best gun I have ever owned. Elaine and James Stewart have been a pleasure to deal with, and I would like to say a big thank you for supplying me with such a quality, 100% English, shotgun!

   I'm a fanatic 28 bore user. So i went to Longhorne because I wanted to future proof my new gun. The barrels are proofed to steel shot full choke.Their care and attention to my requirement went above and beyond. Selecting the stock, the fittings, to the finished Gun. The first 28 bore ever made by Longthorne, was now in my hands. From ordering the gun to completion took 2 years and being the first one made, Jim wanted to make it perfect and it is. Like all thinks that are new need a tweak here and there. The Gun is well bedded in. and shoot very well indeed I'm so please with it. After sales are spot on as well being a new gun needed some adjustments.The gun was back with me in days. There are a lot of guns out there but we only need one, make it a Lonthorne you will be getting a gun for the future. Alan Robinson

   I moved last year to high performance steel cartridges and quickly found that the guns that I was using from another well known maker despite being suitably proofed were simply not up to the job. I had two guns develop loosening of soldered ribs by the end of the season. I determined I would find a new gun that was both strong enough to shoot high performance loads regularly and was still a true game gun. Having read about and spoken to fellow guns to were already using guns from Longthorne I visited their factory and was confident I had found the best manufacturer to make my new gun. It is clear that they can make a gun that is as elegant and beautiful as any in the world but which due to their machining their barrels and lump out of a single piece of steel is intrinsically stronger than any other maker. Jim, Elaine and the rest of the team make simply beautiful, perfectly balanced and very pointable shotguns that will help you both enjoy more and likely help take your shooting to a better level than before. My new gun is a total delight and joy to shoot with and I only wish I had had one of their guns before. Lovely, helpful, knowledgeable people to deal with and great service both before and after commissioning one of their fine shotguns. I cannot think of another make of shotgun that I would prefer having now used my new Longthorne.

   Excellent quality and service from Longthorne. Even from as far away as Australia. I've had the gun now for 3 years and never a problem with it. I had it serviced here for a general clean and some minor adjustment on stock height after 2 years but other than that it has never missed a beat (can't be said about the guy at the trigger end though... LOL). highly recommended
