Stayed here with work. I personally wouldn't opt to stay here. The pub lacks any sort of atmosphere and is way too big. When I stayed, the bar closed at 9pm due to no customers. The food was disappointing, and the starter was inedible as it was deep fried, overcooked, and swimming in grease. The hunters chicken wasn't too bad. The beer was flat, I had carling. I won't be staying here again, with work or otherwise. Needs some TLC and an injection of charisma.

Quite busy when we visited, Christmas lunch very nice but only came with 1 sprout. Some items on menu not available but food and service overall very good. Caramel Apple Betty dessert is always a favourite with one of our group Update We had Christmas Dinner at the Cookhouse, the meal was excellent, Debbie and her team were wonderful and worked really hard to make the meal special. I was in a party of 7, starters were pate, prawn cocktail and beef in Yorkshire pudding all were lovely. Main course we all had turkey, well portioned and very tasty, Christmas pudding for dessert went down well for those that could manage a pudding. We will certainly consider booking for next Christmas day, really good value at £42.99

Arrived in at 9 to eat for a birthday breakfast , not happy at all , there was only two staff serving. Usually there would have been a buffet but because of Covid , the food had to be bought to us, the lady who took my order made me feel very unwelcome , she was rude and made me feel as if it was such a massive inconvenience to her. Plus the food was cold and I had to ASK for a knife and fork ? Instead of them being given to me with the meal or set on the table , never will go there again because of the awful customer service

Worst place possible. I stayed at the premier inn adjoined to the pub. I had booked a meal deal. As I frequently stay in premier inns and have a meal deal you know what food and standards you get. I was very surprised at this place. If you didn’t want a bottle of j2o soft drink or a glass of wine everything was a supplement. Most main meals came with extra supplements except salad and fish chips. So if u want a steak etc it’s an extra £1.49. My starter was potato with cheese bacon served with sour cream. The picture explains all and it was cold. Main was mixed grill at an extra supplement. See pictures. So after paying your £24.99 for the meal deal which in other hotels is pretty good selection I had to pay an extra £6. I was booked for two nights here. Hence cancelled the second nights meal deal. If staying at premier inn Northwick do not book a meal deal

A birthday dinner ruined. Around 20 minutes after placing our order we were told that many dishes were unavailable and we would have to choose something else. Almost an hour and ten minutes later our food was served cold, dishes missing and almost inedible. Having ordered a burger specifying no cheese, it was served with visible knife scratches which I suspect was used to remove cheese from the burger (with some remains of melted cheese left on the burger around the edges) after clearly being put on by mistake. Instead of remaking the burger, it was served as is which is disgraceful- If this was not spotted this may have caused an allergic reaction. After cutting the burger in half we also noted the burger was served raw on the inside. Furthermore our prawns and calamari were cold, and mac and cheese was burnt. I was pleasantly surprised when the haddock and chips finally came (as this was originally forgotten) which was the only dish served warm, the fish very fresh and well cooked. Our waiter and staff were very friendly and assisted with sorting the problem. After speaking with the manager we were told that we would not have to pay for the food and that tonight's events were an absolute shambles and will not happen again. I personally won't be visiting The Cookhouse & Pub again in the future as the business has gone down hill since transferring over from The Woodpecker.

My young boys love it here. Good (small) outdoor play area. Comfortable seating area, with small pub/bar area too. You know what you are getting with Brewers Fayre grub. However, the service is fast and friendly. It does get busy at weekends, so best to book.

Friendly staff, the food was good value and I enjoyed it. I was there with a family group including children and we were quite loud but the staff were understanding and friendly with the children. Service was a little bit slow and it wasn't overly busy, I heard one of the staff advise people of 45 minute waits in good as they came in, which I thought was good. I forgot to change chips to sweet potato fries and they made the change to the chef no problem and all our food came out together and correct.

My family and I often go for breakfast on days off. Everything is cooked fresh to order with really good quality products as in the sausages and bacon. It's a very calm relaxed environment with very good service and nice staff. Would recommend to anyone.
