Delicious handmade freshly made food brilliant customer service artistic approach to their meals chef brought the food outside to me at my car to stop me getting a ticket really cared about the food he was preparing the shop itself is cool. A relaxed vibe food focused 10 out of 10 can’t recommend enough.
Ramen was fried, sushi was warm. Ordered on Uber eats and was delivered with the ramen contained ripped, sauce spilled everywhere, had to bin the order
Iro Sushi is my go to takeaway for Japanese food in Reading. Reasonably priced for the quality. It feels like it is freshly made to order. (Unlike some places where the sushi has been in the fridge for hours or shipped in from another location, and the rice is freezing cold and hard.) Service is pretty quick. I use the collection service and it's usually ready in about half an hour. Today it was 10mins!
I tried IRO for the second time today, as I really liked it the first time. The food was not bad. What put me off is that the guy behind the counter was doing some deep cleaning behind the fridge, exactly where the food is made. He was popping up from down the counter to take orders and serve food in between. He also passed me a lid for the box without washing his hands. Furthermore, the board displayed outside advices they apply a 10% discount inside only, however this was not applied at first. According to the owner, the board outside is old and i didn't ask for discount at the moment of payment! He eventually refunded the cost of my water, which was less than 10%. I do not care about few pennies, but its just a joke having the boad outside and it should be removed.
I was walking around with no breakfast in my stomach (I skipped breakfast) and I had a sudden STRONG craving for Sushi. I've lived here for so long yet I haven't noticed this store till today. I walked past and looked at the store name "Iro Sushi" and it felt very new to see. I decided to step in, and I'm glad I did. it was a nice simple little shop with some AMAZING options. I was blown away by how delicious all of the sushi looked. The guy at the front was very sweet and inviting, he gave some recommendations and we even talked a bit about sushi. To the man at the front, I hope you're doing well! I bought a box of sushi which, I forgot it's name. It had crab and salmon in the centre and tobiko on the exterior which had a stunning colour btw! I must say it was AMAZING. I would even go as far to say the best sushi I'd ever eaten! I'm gonna try more from there very soon. Definitely worth a visit! I will visit again sometime soon and try some more things
The friendly staff and service are what stood out of this establishment. Also, the food of course. I had the Chicken Katsu Curry, very nice and delicious. Crispy chicken, nice white fluffy rice and i loved the tangy veggies they put in it.
It's surprising to find this small shop. The fish is fresh and sushi is nice. I especially like their curry sauce. In addition, the owner is very friendly too. The only drawback is the shop only have 5 seats.
