   Tried their Kerala-style Fish Pollichathu, Duck Mappas, and Appam—and honestly, the taste was spot on. The fish was perfectly cooked with all the right spices, and the duck mappas had that rich, coconut flavour that’s hard to get right. The appam was soft and paired really well with both. If you’re someone who enjoys real Kerala flavours, I’d definitely recommend this place for the taste alone. Will happily visit again.

   Our Friday nights out with friends have become a bit of a tradition, and we love trying new places. This time, we decided to check out Pappadams, a cozy spot with simple decor that felt welcoming but understated. We kicked off with three starters: Prawn Olathiyathu, Pepper Chicken, and Lamb Coconut Fry. Unfortunately, the starters didn’t impress much. The Prawn Olathiyathu and Lamb Coconut Fry lacked flavor and left us underwhelmed. The only highlight was the Pepper Chicken, which had a good kick and stood out in terms of taste. For mains, we went with Chicken Jalfrezi and Lamb Rogan Josh, accompanied by Naans and Kothu Rotis. Sadly, all the dishes arrived almost cold, and the curries were disappointing. Both lacked the bold flavors you’d expect from Indian cuisine, and the gravies were bland and uninspired. Overall, Pappadams needs a lot of improvement, especially with flavor and food temperature. It fell short of delivering the authentic Indian taste we were hoping for.

   Dine-in for the first time at Pappadams. Quaint little restaurant with limited seating capacity on King's Road. Ordered: Hara Bhara Kebab: Didn't turn out to be the perfect appetizer before the main course. Was a bit sour. The distinctive taste was missing. Kerala Parotta: Loved it. Couldn't be more flaky, fluffy and layered. Thalassery Fish Biryani: Local snapper fish used in the biriyani. Properly marinated meat with fragrant rice, flavourful spices, herbs topped with fried onion. Must try! Quantity is good enough for 1 person. Pepper Paneer Chettinadu: Boldness and aroma associated with Chettinadu cuisine missing. Quick service and pleasant staff.

   Went with family for a dinner. Indian food served with Kerala taste and spices. And they serve Halal meat. Nice ambience. Easy to identify from even heavy traffic.Nice and small restaurant with ample seating. Typical Kerala food !! Enjoyed every bit of Kappa(tapioca)biriyani and Kappa with fish curry was awesome. I tried Beef fry and beef ularthiyath.Both were excellent but I expected beef fry bit more dry than ularthiyath. Both went well with traditional appam. Kids also enjoyed appam and fish curry. Kappa biriyani (mutton) was pure tradition blend. Thalassery biriyani was not dum but rice was khaima small rice.Since we were in Thalassery before and tasted authentic one before , biriyani was not as expected,but was not bad. Kerala porotta was nice with beef.Masala tea was so good. Tried a mango lassi as well , and lassi was superb. What I felt fantastic was the serving speed . Never seen a hotel in Uk serving that quick. Very friendly and polite staff. Very pocket friendly restaurant. Will definitely visit again. Parking in the front of the shop is paid parking for 2 hours.

   Absolutely fabulous meal last night, the Tandoori Mixed Grill in particular was just excellent, best one I've ever had.. Staff are lovely people... Will DEFINITELY be back !

   Good Kerala restaurant. Not that crowded. Order kappa biriyani which is good and thalassery mutton biriyani. Mutton biriyani is not bad but it's not authentic thalassery biriyani. ambience and service is great.

   Incredible food. You can really taste all the individual spices and ingredients come together. Really friendly service from all the staff. Came back twice in the same 7 days which I haven’t done for a while with a restaurant. Will be back again soon, one of Reading’s great curry spots.

   Good service and ambience. Appetizers: Average, one of the appetizer we took tasted like McCain frozen snack. Hara bhara kababs had loads of artificial green coloring. Main course: Kerala parota was really good. Pepper paneer chettinad was very good. Jeera rice was also decent. They need to improve on appetizers.
