A big thank you to Antila, whose amazing service and cheerful welcome made our Sunday lunch at The Crazy Bear (Stadhampton) truly memorable. Her friendly manner and thoughtful attention throughout the afternoon added a real sense of care and warmth. We thoroughly enjoyed the 12-course tasting menu, which was beautifully presented and full of flavour. The choice between classic and vegetarian options was especially appreciated, with each dish crafted with creativity and precision. The setting was equally impressive — charming, stylish, and perfectly suited to a leisurely afternoon. Thank you again to Antila and the rest of the team for a fantastic experience. We very much look forward to our next visit!

We had a lovely stay at the hotel. The rooms are very opulent and comfortable. The outside area is lovely and welcoming with various areas to sit and enjoy the pleasant surroundings. The Thai meal was delicious and the dishes kept on coming! All the staff were very helpful and delivered service with a smile, particularly Owen who served us breakfast, the Malaysian guy at the bar and the reception girls on the bus. Would love to visit again.

The 12 course Thai tasting menu was superb. Food tasted delicious. I assumed the 12 courses would each be very small but I was wrong. We were very full when finished. The decor was fantastic, and the waiting staff were attentive and on the ball. All in all, one of the best Thai dinners I’ve had.

Groupon Tasting menu (not a real tasting menu) Was charged 13.5% service which I was happy to pay. Tapped my phone before checking and had been charged 13.5% on the 'full price' of the tasting menu and not what I actually paid. They worked out what it was worth without the groupon voucher and charged me based on that. Very dodgy. The food IT IS NOT A TASTING MENU. A "12 plate tasting menu" should be individually plated and come out individually and effort should be made on the plating. This was not what we got. It was basically a 3 course meal. 5 starters came out. Then mains, rice and veg. finishing with lemon tart. It feels like they just use tasting menu to get people in the door as most people wouldn't pay £100 for three course dinner. Taste wise the food was fine, nothing special but enjoyable. Certainly not worth the price without a voucher. Not the most authentic and aimed at western tastes I suppose. Thai curry was very tasty but zero spice. Service was good, our waiter was great.

Whilst the food (12-plate taster menu) and service were exceptional, our experience was let down by the misleading 13.5% service charge. When you mention such a charge, customers believe that a fair proportion of it will go to the workforce. Surprised by a higher than normal charge, I asked if the server would benefit from it and was told “no”. I was absolutely appalled. Whilst I will return, next time the service charge will not be paid, and I would encourage all other customers to have it removed from the bill too.

The best Thai restaurant around Oxford. It’s a high end restaurant, w authentic Thai cooking w real Thai chef. We have been coming here for couple of years. We like the service old gent, very friendly and experienced. It’s not cheap but well deserved

Very uncomfortable seating area, where the waiter constantly asking us to move and sit tighter cause he was trying to fill other people in a tiny table next to us. Very bad service. Unfortunately there was a waste of money and ruined our special night. Even though we booked in advance there was very poor service. The food was good but I left the restaurant feeling that I don’t want to go back.

Don’t waste your money. The waiters were lovely but food is poor quality and so expensive - we’ve had better takeaways for a fraction of the price. If you do go, make sure to phone to try and reserve an outdoor table as the downstairs arrangement is compact and not very comfortable. Shame as many people come here for a special occasion and I’m sure are disappointed like us.

What an odd place. On the one hand, the atmosphere of the enclosed garden space, the service (largely) and the food were all really excellent. We ordered off the Thai menu and it was first-rate, perhaps some of the best Thai food we'd ever had. Lovely cocktails, especially the Old Fashioneds. Friendly, attentive service on what seemed to be low staff numbers. However, prices were surprisingly high, even for Oxfordshire. Had we not had the 50%-off lunch offer on our side, we wouldn't have been so satisfied. Coupled with this, the inside seating area (for both restaurants) was dingy - cramped, dark and inexplicably smelly, like your local boozer that hasn't been cleaned of beer stains for a week. That's why we chose to sit outside, and luckily the weather obliged. Overall, a real mixed bag. Self-consciously quirky decor and fancy service and seating does not London prices make. But we felt like we made the most of it.

Crazy bear, what a find, I had never heard of it prior to going there. Every aspect of this experience was quality. Food, drink and service was exceptional. Highly recommended. To truly enjoy you will need £200 per head. What a night! (English restaurant) (Thai restaurant wasn't open on the Monday night we visited)
