My Partner and I have been coming to Dicky's for years and have always rated the quality of food and this still applied on our most recent visit last weekend. My issue is the increased and unnecessary time pressure that we have been made to feel when we are here. When dining out we like to order our drinks and starters first, then after our starters we have a better idea of what we'd like for our mains, we dine out a lot and this is never a problem! we don't have desert so do not over run our table slot. However at Dicky's they have a huge issue with this as it's 'inconvenient for the chef'.. I don't come to a restaurant to cater to the chef or the restaurant, quite the opposite. Upon ordering our starters, I could see the manager requesting that the poor waitress come back over and pressure us to order our mains at the same time and to inform us that it'd be an hour's wait for mains otherwise, which we knew was not true as we've had this issue of feeling rushed at dickies before, so we reminded the waitress that we didn't yet know what we'd like, we wouldn't be ordering desert, we're aware of our time slot and we're in no rush.. She responded by saying that they had a table booking afterwards - Our table was booked for 8pm and the restaurant was quite quiet and assuming it's at least a 1.5/2 hour slot I highly doubt they'll be seating people at 9.30/10pm to dine, another bluff to get us out of the restaurant quicker! Once we ate our starters and ordered our mains, as predicted our mains came out in less than 15/20 minutes of which I only had about 3 bites as I was too full from being rushed and had to take the rest home in a box. We really like Dicky's, the atmosphere and food but this really puts us off going and puts us off recommending it so I'd like for this to change and of course will re evaluate my review if it does.. If a customers preference is to order their starters and mains in 2 parts as they like to take their time, drink wine and relax.. then as long as they're aware of their time slot on the table then this should make no difference at all to the restaurant and the convenience restaurant should play no part, I'm there to dine for my own convenience and it's not a fast food chain.. I'm paying for my own enjoyment, I'm the customer.

OUR DREAM WEDDING RECEPTION AT DICKY'S. A belated review of our perfect day thanks to Paul and the wonderful team at Dicky's. With a quick and relaxed 6 month turnaround; Paul made every step of planning our big wedding feast an absolute breeze. He told us we could have absolutely anything we wanted to make our special day and he meant it. They went above and beyond to hand- tailor our menu to our biggest, foodie, American- themed desires and we even did a one night only personalised cocktail for our guests. The food was nothing short of amazing, it being the highlight of our day and the thing most commented on by our guests when we look back. Three indulgent courses followed by a huge and mega fun buffet, and then a beautifully displayed cake table to host the 6 cakes we had baked for the occasion. Honestly we will never get over it, the vibes were immaculate, the music, the atmosphere, the attentiveness of staff and the overall pure joy and ease of the afternoon/ evening will last forever. THANK YOU.

βοΈβοΈβοΈβοΈβοΈ Wow! We could not have chosen a more perfect place for our wedding reception than Dickyβs Brasserie in Southbourne. From the moment we arrived, the whole team went above and beyond to make our day unforgettable. Paul and his team are truly first class β professional, warm, and flawless in every detail. A huge thank you to Restaurant manager Jade, whose planning, calm efficiency and incredible organisation meant everything ran seamlessly. She made sure we didnβt have to worry about a thing and could just enjoy the celebration. The atmosphere was magical, the food was outstanding (our guests are still talk about it!), and the service was nothing short of exceptional. It was everything Simon and I dreamed of and more. We will cherish the memories forever and cannot recommend Dickyβs Brasserie highly enough for anyone wanting to celebrate in true style. Thank You! Simon & Benjamin Whitson-Dando

Dinner Dickys bar brasserie Southbourne, Bournemouth What a find this was. We were going somewhere else but was recommended here. It's everything we love. Great venue and ambiance with the most delicious top quality food. We were spoilt for choice. For starters we had the Crispy Squid which was do fresh and tender. And for something different, Black pudding & Blue cheese Scotch Egg. Mains chosen were the fillet of Red Snapper with a very tasty curry sauce. Then the star of the show Biefstuk. Dutch beef steak with chilli gravy served with fries and bread for mopping. The Beef was so tender and delicious. We've never had anything like this before and is an absolute must try. We couldn't manage a dessert as we were totally full. They had a very tempting specials board. The staff were all lovely and very accommodating and service was spot on.

Great evening for my wife and me. Busy on a Monday night is a good sign which, alongside the upmarket decor, made for a good atmosphere, plus friendly, fun and very attentive service. All desserts made on site, great selection of novel but reasonably priced drinks and good portion sizes. The two or three meal set menus are affordable and tasty. We really enjoyed ourselves and heartily recommend. Been again more recently too, still great!

Are here again last weekend. The place was buzzing, friendly and the decor tasteful. The staff were helpful and attentive. I have to eat gluten free and they provided a separate menu with quite a few choices. Everyoneβs food was delicious and good value. The pictures show my lamb noisette and Aldi a gf/vegan cheesecake. Quite a treat. Will eat here again.

Nice food and ambience in this gastropub/ restaurant. The nut roast was good value with fantastic roast potatoes although I'm told there was virtually no duck in the cassoulet. Our server was really lovely. Recommended for tasty food at reasonable prices.
