This cafe is amazing! The staff are really friendly and welcoming. The food and dessert selection is great too. My only observation is that they don't have any Halal options in their sandwich selection, which could be a good option for diversity.
The food is over priced for the quality you get. While the Greek salad was good, the £8 salmon bagel has seen better days - the bagel was stale, and it didn't appear to be made on the day. The staff try to be nice but can come across as patronising.
I've been to Ori cafe twice in the last month, and both times one staff member has ruined the atmosphere with her very loud voice. She seems to have no awareness that she is shouting, which may be for a reason of course, and it's quite awkward because she is clearly the person in charge so I wasn't able to have a (quiet) word with the manager to let them know. I tried to find an email address for the head office but there isn't one, so I'm left with Google reviews to pass on my experience. I'm here now and she is shouting about the contents of the fridge and whether one of the other staff members wants to take some home, for us all to hear. She also conducted an interview for a potential new staff member at one of the tables in the cafe, asking him personal questions, such as why he wanted to move from his current job, within earshot of all the customers, which seems a hugely unprofessional and inappropriate place to interview someone. The food and coffee I had both times was lovely, and I chose the venue as it is a bit out of the way and should be a quieter sanctuary amongst the maelstrom of the shopping centre, but sadly this just left me stressed and irritated. I hope she reads this review, and knows that it is left with the best intentions - a little quieter and this cafe would be perfect.
Coffee and food are fantastic, although very, very expensive. I had a flat white and a sausage roll, costing £10.10. Lots of tables that needed clearing. The staff are friendly.
Lovely staff. Lovely food - we had the mango and passion fruit cake - mmmmm! And the Iced Caramel Lattes were the perfect thing for a hot Thursday afternoon! Oh - the staff were lovely by the way! Thank you Ori Caffe!! Xx
I went in last Friday and ordered some cakes and the till had some issues. I paid and was promised a refund back on the card. I phoned a few days later to say the refund was still not on my statement. I was told it's a few days. A week later still haven't had my refund of £9.58. I am not very happy with the messing about. I never got any food anyway.
Lovely cafe. Expensive end. Nice atmosphere and lots of space and light. Food is a bit fancy for people with allergies or children. The cakes looked amazing but we had savoury food.
A newish cage inside John Lewis. Feels better than the older cafe a floor up. Seems lighter. Drinks are brought to you, which can reduce queuing, not too sure on the range of food but the cakes were good.
I arrived for lunch and ordered a tuna and mozzarella toasted sandwich with a hot chocolate. The lady that served me asked if I'd like salad and thought a side salad would be lovely, however i was charged £4 for a salad that came with pasta, rice and was completley not the side salad i was expecting. The salad and toasties was really wet and quite tasteless. The toastie wasn't toasted enough and had so much mozzarella in it it was still cold and was quite disgusting. The hot chocolate was good hence the 1 star however. Total bill was over £14, far too expensive for how grim the food is. Will not be returning and would encourage others to give it a miss.
