   I don’t normally write reviews, but I have been so impressed with the service and end results for the work Darren has done in creating a very enjoyable car that exceeds my requirements, that I just had to share my experience. I first contacted Mulgari after seeing a review by on YouTube for improving his roadster to be one he could use more. After my initial call (Feb 2024), I popped in to meet Darren and discuss my requirements, Darren was extremely helpful in listening and suggesting options that would or wouldn’t be worthwhile. Phase 1 - Handling After our discussion we agreed to go forward in 2 phases the first to improve the handling and breaking, this consisted of GP style diffuser, Bilstein suspension, wheel spacers, poly bushes (some done in phase 1, remaining done in phase 2 when subframe was off), bigger brakes (painted in yellow with Mulgari script ), AEM air filter and AEM strut braise. The work was completed to an amazing standard, with no surprises and the end result I was so impressed with, the cars handling was amazing and completely transformed for the better. I was so pleased that I decided to go ahead with the phase 2 performance modifications. Darren and I discussed this in more detail and agreed the best way forward. Phase 2 – Performance For the performance modifications I had the following work completed: - Upgraded clutch & flywheel - Quaife LSD – THIS IS AN AMAZING MODIFICATION AND IS A MUST! - Stage 2 tune - Larger intercooler - Larger turbo & cooling blanket - Improved spark plugs - Improved custom made manifold - Full Milltek exhaust and tips - Darren even tidied up the engine bay and a few items as he uncovered them along the way (with calls to me beforehand to confirm) Overall, the work has exceeded what I expected with a fabulous little beast of a mini, I’ve been impressed with the way Darren listened and helped me to get the car I was after, it drives perfectly when just pottering around or stuck in traffic and the performance on a blast is hysterical & fun. The exhaust note is just what I wanted. I can’t stop driving the car as it’s a huge amount of fun. I thoroughly recommend Mulgari, Darren has a lot of knowledge and he is well worth listening too. He will be honest with what will work and his delivery times. Considering it’s just Darren I’m surprised at how much he manages to do int the time he does it, at the end you get a well sorted, good quality machine!    I am extremely impressed and happy with the service I received from Darren at Mulgari. I wanted to give my 2011 R56 Mini Cooper S an overhaul and performance refresh, bringing it up to date for 2024. After researching many Mini ‘specialist’ garages over many months, I decided to contact Mulgari and discuss the options. My initial call with Darren filled me with confidence from the start, discussing where I wanted to get the car to and his recommendations for performance packages, suspension options etc etc. I decided to go with JCW brakes upgrade, Bilstein B14 coilovers, upgraded clutch, LSD, power flex bushes all round, AEM intake, stage 1 tune and fast road stance and geometry setup (quite an update to be fair!). I’d heard Darren is amazing at setting up a car/chassis so this was my main goal of the project at this stage (bigger power can come in future now that the platform/chassis is up to date). I am more than happy with the results! The car is so planted and its cornering ability is amazing - a big go kart for sure! Day to day the car drives perfectly and can be used easily around town (clutch pedal feels the same as standard, suspension is set so speed humps are still not an issue). Even the stage 1 tune is FAST - more than enough for modern roads to be honest. However I’ll definitely be back for more performance upgrades in future! I must say Darren’s attention to detail is fantastic and that was my main criteria really getting somebody who cares as much as I do, I had total trust in Darren and his honesty throughout. I was very impressed that he sent me an ‘initial findings report’ giving an overview of the condition of the car after his first test drive, before starting any work. I definitely appreciated this as it also laid out some further recommended work to get the car back to a required standard before starting with the upgrades - what’s the point in bolting the shiny new bits on to rusting parts??? I was kept up to date with the work throughout and really appreciated this. THE HONEST BIT - If you are thinking of having this sort of work completed on your car then you should consider the following: 1. I would describe Mulgari as a high-end performance tuning house. Things will definitely be done correctly and to a high standard, but of course this means associated costs. Do consider what you NEED vs WANT doing to your car if you are going down this route. This is the route I wanted to go to have things done right first time, so I understood all costs and also had a contingency sum for things that may crop up e.g. the honesty from Darren about repairing/replacing rusted parts on my car before we started installing the good stuff. 2. This project took 7 months from first contact phone call to driving the completed car back home from Mulgari. This was due to lead times on the Bilstein B14 coilovers. So if you are going down the coilover route be prepared for at least 6 months lead time (this is no fault of Mulgari I must add!). 3. Mulgari is a highly recommended and in-demand tuning house and as far as I am aware Darren is basically a ‘one man band’ there. So be patient and stick with it if the phone isn’t answered immediately, emails are replied to the next day etc. I would rather wait for Mulgari and have it completed by an expert, than have a few bits from Halfords bolted on by a mate down the road. In summary, I had a 600mile round trip to have this work completed and I am not disappointed at all - I hope that puts into perspective how much I would recommend Mulgari. I will be back in future for further work. Highly recommended!

   Have had a very pleasant experience with Mulgari today and would highly recommend them! They are the place to come for when you want someone to work on your car that you can fully trust, goes above and beyond for their customers, does everything properly and takes great pride in their work. Darren was very helpful and knowledgeable in our email exchanges prior to my visit and explained everything he was going to do on my car to me. I personally had my 2012 R56 Mini Cooper S receive their Mulgari Stage 2 engine remapping uniquely tailored and tweaked to be perfect for my engine and car and the end result is exactly as was promised and described to me at the beginning of the day. In short, they are very knowledgeable, excellent customer service & aftercare and if you have a R56/F56 Mini this is THE place to go. I will very likely be coming back for some further work in the future.

   Darren is a Mini wizard and is such a pleasure to work with. He's explains his process and methodology in detail when working on your car which gives you peace of mind that your beloved Mini (or any other car) is in the right hands. I was very excited to bring my Mini to Darren as he is very well respected in the Mini community and everyone has only good things to say about him. Made it very easy for me to approach him in confidence to work on my car, starting off with an alignment. Aside from just alignment, Darren was very helpful in explaining what he's going to do within the time frame and offers up great suggestions that he can add or do to the car even with aftermarket parts I've bolted on from other Garages, even calling me throughout the day to give me an update. Definitely coming back to Mulgari for any further work!

   Mulgari have transformed my John Cooper Works Clubman from a good car into the car it should always have been. Over three years, they have thoughtfully upgraded its power, handling and cosmetics, and come up with economic suggestions on what's next ... often finding solutions that were much cheaper than my original thoughts. For example, I thought I needed coil-overs. I didn't! Mulgari offered superior handling, with their own mods at a much cheaper price. The crowning glory is the increase in power, smooth delivery and sheer excitement of the engine remap, which was completed to meet my own specific needs rather than a simple 'out of the box' solution. No matter what car I get in the future, Mulgari will look after it.

   Excellent work by Darren sorted out a revised map for my car, as the one previously applied was full of holes and spikes. Car is now in a different league to before! I'm not a fan of anyone touching my vehicle's due to my background in mechanical engineering, however Darren has been around a long time, has worked with serious vehicles and a lot of industry figures that I've known in the past, so be assured that the service you will get from Mulgari will be second to none and can be fully relied upon!    I contacted Mulgari cars to see if I could change my wing mirrors from colour coded to gloss black, to add more definition. Darren was quick to get back to me, offering various options/choices, I chose and they delivered- they managed to fit me in quick time and they them installed at a time that suited me, even though they were busy. Couldn’t recommend them highly enough, would definitely use them again! Already thinking about what else I could change on my car. Thanks again

   Darren at Mulgari has amazing expertise and experience. I wanted the biggest front brakes I could get into my remapped TTS as I race it on track days and have warped 2 sets of front discs before, due to overheating them. With Darren's help, I researched and sourced a set-up usually used as an ultimate upgrade for a TTRS. Darren fitted the kit to my TTS and did an amazing metalwork re-shaping job with the existing backplates so they, not only fit the bigger discs perfectly, but they also have an extra opening so my brake cooling ducts point right at the discs. The job Darren has done is remarkable. And with his race driving experience he helps prioritise the modification work to the car that produces the most cost effective gains for track day racing. I can only add that I recommend the expertise and work quality of Mulgari above all other places.
