Quick mot once started , but what was the point of being asked to come in 10 minutes ahead of schedule if you’re not ready to get started until 30 mins after (and my booking was the first one of the day!)
Im sorry to say, but I was very disappointed. I was warned not to go for a service here, but gave them the benefit of the doubt as I had already booked and paid. I had a major service done today and received a phone call to say the front brakes need replacing (both pads and discs) I was surprised as these were only done in December last year and only had 9k miles driven with them. I did ask "are you sure its not back brakes" due to a previous heads up that my backs needed doing. They said no, its definitely the fronts. I asked how my backs were and they said they are fine. I then explained that my backs were reported as needing replacing and was reassured they are fine. I decided against the work on the fronts to get a 2nd opinion and was told by another garage that the fronts are fine and have years left in them. Its the backs that need attention. When I went back down Halfords Bracknell and explained this, I asked them "have you mixed this up" and the man on reception replied "Oh we must have, sorry about that!" No offer to recheck or question how this mix up could have occurred. The vehicle health report states the fronts are fine on % but reported them as red and need changing. They even took a picture of my front brake discs and they look absolutely fine. No ware, no lipping or scratching. I dont understand how a business like Halfords can make such mistakes, even when the customer confirms they were replaced 11 months ago with only 9k driven and asked are you sure its not the back brakes. Had I been naive and opted to have the work done, I dont know how honest they would have been if they realised they didnt need doing, especially after adding the pictures on the report of perfectly good brake discs. This could have cost me a further £200 for nothing. I wonder how many people have fallen for that. To top it off, the service reminder was not reset (light was not on as it wasnt due just yet) but is still what we pay for, then found out they didnt re-attach the soft open arm on my glove compartment. Im now paying for another mechanic to check over the car to see if all of the service was completed and everything is back together properly. I dread what else I may find in the next few days. I won't be using this garage again.
All 4 tyre pressure lights came on and wasn’t really sure what to do, managed to stop at Halfords in Bracknell and they have been super helpful. Within 5 minutes it was sorted and I was ready to get back on the road. Can’t thank them enough!!
service done 4 months ago, now car in limp mode - not even 8k miles and engine oil deteriorated. don't think they have done anything except taking company money.
I've used Halfords for servicing three times now, including having all tyres changed, and they've been consistently prompt and reliable. Luke, the Centre Manager, is an absolute star, always friendly, helpful, and takes the time to answer all my questions and concerns. Great customer service every time. Highly recommend!
I bought my car in for an MOT, and it failed unfortunately, not their fault my car had suspension problems. So I asked them to repair it for me. It was pricey but reasonable enough. When I took my car back, i felt that the brakes got spongy and weak and my ABS kicked on very early, so another day I bought it back to them to take a look, they looked at the brake lines and couldn't find an straight forward issue. I decided to take it to two more mechanics including Suzuki service, and I got a unanimous air bubble. I decided to comfort Halfords about this, and they aren't willing to take responsibility for the fault, even though it had absolutely no issues before. Mistakes happen I understand that but one must take responsibility for them and offer a solution, Halfords solution was to charge me more money to get their mistake fixed. Do not recommend it overall. The positive I can give is that the staff are polite.
Worst Halfords ever! Took my car there today to change the 2 front tyres and they broke my car. They are now asking me to pay nearly £400 for the repair! I am raising my complaint to the papers and trading standards as they are refusing to resolve internally. On top of everything the team were all laughing about the issue and being arrogant. Completely unprofessional. Especially the manager.
Nice and professional staff are working there. Been there for MOT. Can recommend 100%. I don't understand those people who are complaining and leave bad feedback about the MOT checks which they failed. Don't blame the stuff that is working in Halfords, blame yourself, because you didn't prepare your car for MOT. My car is 11 years old and today it passed MOT without any advisories.
Worst place to go for a MOT! Wrong decision was taken from them which cost me money where it shouldn’t. Fault 1- Mechanic left my Van running for 40min because he wanted to warm it up while it was warm already as I drived there for 30min prior. Fault 2- Too harsh on my vehicle, shaking it for 5min straight while checking underneath. Not professional at all and rushing. Fault 3- They made me wait 30min extra from the time window that was given at the begging. Will not recommend them. Avoid at all costs!
My first time using this branch and I was extremely happy with the service. Ordered two new tyres online from Halfords and got the appointment to fit the very next day. Super fast, efficient and friendly service from the staff. Happy to use again for sure!
