I love this place , I feel it's more up market compared to other coffee shops close by. The fact it offers a variety of milk alternatives is great for me. I'm not a vegan but a good range of vegan food and cakes .

This was our second time visiting BEAR. We had a long wait for someone to come to the desk to seat us, however the service from that point onwards was excellent! The person serving us was so friendly and our food and drinks were absolutely delicious! We will definitely continue visiting!

So, in my experience at a bear coffee café I’d say I paid £5.20 for a Biscoff and cream latte, and I assumed that, hey, it would be like Biscoff syrup or something, and obviously I expected cream as well, but almost half the latte itself was just cream. That’s a crazy amount if I’m paying £5.20, and the cup isn’t large by itself. It’s quite normal-sized like a Greggs latte, to be fair, but that’s beside the point. If I had to give it a rating, a Cafe Nero would be a 7, because, you get good quality service, and it’s pretty much understandable. I’d put this place at a 6. Better than Greggs, better than McDonald's, because they’d be about a 2 or a 3, but this place isn’t, like, revolutionary or outstanding. There’s a better coffee place below called 200 Degrees, and I would genuinely just go and get coffee there. It’s better value for money, and the coffee beans are a lot better. That’s all I can really say. It’s not a bad place, but it’s not a great place it’s just okay. Although the atmosphere the vibes and the service is great can't say much about the food

I had an amazing experience here today thanks to the male barista who made my coffee. Not only did the coffee taste fantastic, perfectly balanced and smooth, but the latte art was absolutely beautiful! A true work of art. You can really tell he takes pride in his craft and cares about delivering quality. Friendly, professional, and talented! Definitely made my visit extra special!

Went out with friends lunchtime on a weekend. We had reserved place so had no difficulty. We didn’t realise we had to pay at the till and the food is then brought to the table. The person who sat us could have informed us as its our first time here. Cant complaint about food. It is very nice. Has a good selection of vegetarian options. Staff and service could have bit friendlier which would made the whole dining experience better.

Excellent service. Ordering process was easy, the atmosphere here was brilliant. Despite being just off the food court, once seated inside it feels like a whole different place. You almost forget where you are. Quality and portion size of the meals was great too. Looking forward to going back.

Popped in for a late night coffee on the off chance and wow... well made, strong and super tasty. Range of milk selections which is a massive tick from me. Cakes all looked well made and presented. Menu seemed to have a great range and so will return for brunch/lunch. Atmosphere was chilled, decor and vibe is cool and inviting. Have a Sunday routine and usually drink at Costa, but blend of coffee and taste was much nicer, will visit again, thank you.

Lovely food. Friendly staff. Ordered a Bear Bennie and the tastes surprised me. Didn't expect to have some herbs inside the hash brown like cake which is quite nice. Free to switch milk to Oat/soya/coconut milk which is a bonus!!

Really great coffee shop and eatery. The staff are amazing and the interior decor is stylish and comfortable. Prices are reasonable for the experience provided. My Friday lunch place to chill. Really worth a visit.

First visit because dispite being a bit of a coffee geek I just don't go into Derby city centre. First things first, the food is excellent, I had Bears Bennies which was superb, hollandaise sauce can be overpowering and most places go a bit over the top with it; however, Bear got it spot on. My fiancée had a espresso caramel waffle, again it was superb... monumentally sweet but the espresso balanced it perfectly. Now for my primary reason for going, the V60 pour over coffee. Coffee can be big, bitter and aggressive and that's fine; however, it can also be light, acidic, fruity and delicate but requires excellent beans, a perfect grind, excellent brewing equipment, someone who knows what their doing and patience....Bear have this sorted. Brewing good coffee is more like an art that anything else, even if you think you don't like coffee try a pour over with a medium, light or washed bean that's been properly ground and brewed, it'll completely alter your view.
