My mum went to get me some food and a hot chocolate while I was in A&E. The server was very rude to my mum - who hasn't ever been in a Costa before - and berated her for not bringing a cold toastie to the counter to be heated up, because she thought she could just order the food she wanted. They also served the toastie about 4 minutes before the drinks were made, which meant it was cold by the time I got it.

Poor service by one barista. I ordered a pecan cookie latte. There was no topping on the cream. I took it back and the barista said we don’t have any. No alternative was offered by her at all ? Another barista heard the conversation and asked if I would like caramel sauce instead. So he was thanked by myself and accepted We pay a lot for these coffees so at least would wish to be told prior that we will be short changed! The barista that served me clearly needs more customer service training.

Asked for a coffee at 1700 hrs (supposed to be open 24 hrs, 7 days a week). I asked for a coffee but was advised by an employee that they were closed and that if he served me then he would have to serve other. There were already approx 20 customers sitting drinking beverages in the restaurant but I was told in no uncertain terms by an abrupt women whom I assume was the manageress that they were closed due to technical reason. Not very service minded as the equipment appeared to be working. This attitude doesn’t enhance Costa Coffee’s reputation.

Rude staff. You’d think Costa would train them in customer experience given they are in a hospital. Saw a guy behind a till tell a queue of people to use the screens (they weren’t working), he then asked a man to use a takeaway cup instead of a mug as it was easier for him and his colleagues (1. when you are paying £4+ for a coffee the least you could do is put it in a mug and 2. this is horrendous for the environment). The same staff member berated a customer for not requesting to sit in when he came back up to ask for plates (he wasn’t asked whether he wanted takeaway or to sit in when he ordered!) he was an elderly man and probably like a lot of us here going through a very difficult time. Costa - train your staff in compassion. This is just one example - I’ve had to be here all week and the staff are consistently rude.

3 am and was pleased to find somewhere open. This is within the hospitql This Costa is 24 hours which is great. The lady serving was very polite and professional. A large range of products, although a few had run out. I felt the vegan rocky road was expensive for a small slice. All in all very useful. Plenty of seating available.

One of the better costas I’ve visited, always well stocked shelves and drinks made reasonably quickly. Staff could be a little bit friendlier but it’s a busy one so not always expected. Just wish they had Black Forest hot chocolate this Christmas!

Lovely place to come for a coffee or snack and drink, went for a hot choc, service was quick and friendly. Clean and tidy, smartly laid out and modern, disabled friendly and lots of options available to everyone.
