Lovely pub, great staff, and a good choice of well-kept beers and ciders.. the Guinness is particularly nice. Has a comfy lounge and a welcoming and relaxed outside area too. You wouldn't think you were in the middle of town..

Been meaning to goto this pub for over 10 years but never got around to it until Saturday and wow what a brill pub, Now my fave real cider pub in Derby as they had 10 flat ciders on. Warm welcome, great suntrap of a beer garden. I have added a load of 360 degree photographs for Google Streetview so you can see what its like inside, this is in addition to the ones I took back in 2013 when the Murals were freshly painted. Look forward to returning again soon.

We didn't eat hence the 3 stars for that. Otherwise this is a lovely pub that offers a great deal more inside than outside appearances suggest. We had a couple of very good real ales, enjoyed some entertaining chat with locals and band members and were rather pleased woth ourselves for taking the time to visit. Highly recommend this place.

Not been in ages, beer choice has improved. Not sure what they wash the glasses in but mine & my friends smelt of wet dog :( totally put us off our drinks.

An attractive pub on the inside, the mural on the outside of the pub would benefit from a decent pub sign or some colour. The light bar area has 5 ales and the atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable.

Last time I went here it was a student union type bar, it isn't that anymore. It's a traditional city centre pub but with a fairly modern, stripped back look downstairs and a super comfortable living room feeling upstairs. There's also a compact but perfectly decent beer garden and a raised decked area on the second floor that's accessed from the upstairs room. Beer is a mix of independent cask and both independent & mass produced keg, was pleased to find DEYA Steady Rolling Man. It's also superb value, a pint and a half of DEYA was around £6. There's a TV downstairs that was showing the rugby and one upstairs with iPlayer, there's also a dart board downstairs and a fireplace. Obviously it's quite a local pub; however, it's easy going and welcoming. Definitely worth visiting if you're that side of Derby.

A really friendly welcome awaits in this Friargate real ale pub. Live music and an outdoor seating area. Good choice of drinks and very good service. Enjoy. M
