The staff are always very friendly and welcoming, its always clean and tidy and plenty of seating indoors and outside overlooking the Weir, which is beautiful especially in the summer. The food is typical Marstons menu, but always really nice and hot, we've never had a disappointing meal. The do a quiz night on a Tuesday evening which is fun and occasionally have live entertainment. I highly recommend a visit

I’d never been to The Sump before but they had an amazing offer on so we went along to try it. And boy did we not regret it! Staff were lovely and the food was above standard for pub food. They clearly have a great chef in the kitchen. Loved it so much I went back with other friends the week later! So thanks for the offer which drew us in and we will be back! If you have the offer again we’ll be back twice that week! Can’t wait to come in the summer and sit by the canal enjoying some more fab food!

It a nice pub it fantastic inside and outside When I when food too 45 mins to turn up and it was other done the bun was hard and dry burgers was burnt Pulled pork chewy as hell. Best part was hash brown and fry egg. When the server came over to get the plates we told her about the food, she didn't look too bothered or sound too bothered either.

Fantastic experience and the food was absolutely stunning. The staff was very friendly polite and helpful. Very busy but the service was quick. Plenty of parking with a lot of disabled parking but it gets very busy at the weekend so book a table.

We love this pub as it is one of the few in the area that does an extensive gluten free menu. One of the kids is celiac and she always has a great choice here. Plates all clean and food lovely as always. Staff are always lovely and friendly and nothing too much trouble.

Really nice place! You can sit outside and listen to the calming sounds of the river or sit inside and socialise, whatever you prefer! The food was amazing, delicious, heavenly. The drinks were quickly served and the waitress was lovely!

Reasonable place for a pint and some pub food. However, there wasn't much to choose in ale department (only one ale available).

Beautiful outside eating area with wooden picnic type tables and chairs but no umbrellas stands were there we sat in a shaded spot but betime we had finished the meal we were in 32°full sunshine. I had hunter's chicken with chips and side salad just could have done with a bit more sauce in a jug. My husband had fish and chips served with mushy peas which he said was a bit dry the fish was huge and very tasty. Other than that can still recommend it
