Booked an appointment here after seeing reviews saying this salon is good for curly hair and I agree! Super professional and quick haircut on my curly hair and I got exactly what I asked for - I would recommend here of you have long curly hair and know what you want/what works well for your hair as I was listened to very well.
I made an appointment to have my hair cut with Altin on Friday and I left the salon feeling amazing! What a hair cut!.... I asked for shorter layers and to keep the hair long along with a curly bouncy blow dry. The style was very similar to Eva Longoria! It was perfect! I received so many compliments over the weekend. Thank you Altin! Professional service, beautiful salon and amazing attention to detail! I am delighted with my new hair cut!
I recently moved to the area and decided to try this salon for the first time. I hadn’t had my hair dyed in ages, but Altin absolutely nailed the colour! The team made me feel so at ease, and the whole experience was fantastic. Highly recommend!

Altin honestly gave me probably the best hair cut I have ever had in my life. Was very thorough and quite clear that he is expertly trained. Head massage was a great bonus! Friendly service and very worth it :)
I have had so many compliments on my new haircut that I just had to write this review here. It is an excellent salon with an extremely friendly and welcoming atmosphere. I had the most amazing haircut and colour. I was also given great advice on styling and products. The owner is superbly talented and knows his craft. Thank you so very much for the amazing job u did on my lifeless locks and totally transformed my look.
I always console myself when I leave the hairdresser that this will be the best my hair will ever look until my next cut. But not today. I’m traveling extensively, and needed to get a haircut in Reading before some important Zoom conference calls. My husband asked around for recommendations; everybody was booked. Finally he scored an appointment for me at Alternate Salon. I admit I was worried, because they seemed to be recently opened and weren’t crammed full of customers. Altin met us and offered beverages right away. The salon itself was clean and stylish—and pleasantly minimalist. No frou-frou. I showed Altin a photo of what I wanted, as cut by my Los Angeles stylist 3 years ago. I said I missed that stylist and Altin said, “You won’t miss her after today.” We walked a few steps to the rear of the salon and Altin washed my hair—I am pretty sure it was the best hair washing I’ve ever had. I suspect Altin was using some acupressure, and maybe some intuition, but it was delicious. I found myself thinking that women who are hungry for touch would flock here for this treatment alone—it was unexpectedly nourishing. Then it was back to the chair, and the cutting began. In a way, I feel like I got two haircuts: the first chop got rid of the junk and the ends… then after that he did the detail work, precisely shaping the back, the sides, and the bangs with scissors. I collected a mountain of tiny hairs in my lap—evidence of the meticulousness of his work. Afterwards, my husband couldn’t stop talking about how great I looked (plus I got a discount because it was my first visit). I have to say Altin was right: I don’t miss my hairdresser back in L.A. after getting this topnotch treatment. He knows his stuff! For once I think it has been cut so well that I won’t have to wait for my next hair appointment to look this good again. Last but not least, I’m only posting this review because I’m leaving town in a week. Otherwise I’d stay quiet and keep this secret to myself. If I visit Reading again, I’m afraid the line to Alternate Salon will extend all the way up the block. My advice is to book with Altin now while you still can. (PS: He’s pretty nice to look at, too.)
Had the most amazing morning being completed pampered and left feeling like a million dollars. Altin is a miracle worker when it comes to colour, I learnt so much about how to look after the health of my hair. Beautiful salon, amazing attention to detail from someone who is clearly an expert in cutting and colouring hair. Have booked to go back. Flexible appointments ( accommodated me on a Sunday morning) and they are also currently hiring for an Apprentice - get in touch if you want to learn from the best!
