   I recently had a very disappointing experience with my MOT at Halfords, and I feel compelled to share my feedback. I’m giving them one star due to the service I received. My first appointment was canceled just 10 minutes before I was due to arrive, which was incredibly frustrating. The second appointment was just as disappointing; I left my car but was informed that the MOT couldn’t be completed due to staff issues. I'm really unclear on how that can happen. I was told I'd receive a call the following day with an update, but I ended up waiting two days without any communication. Eventually, I called to cancel the appointment since I hadn’t heard back, and yet somehow, I was booked for another appointment immediately after. This lack of organisation and communication is unacceptable. I expected much better service, and I hope this feedback helps improve their processes in the future.

   Pros: Easy service booking and multiple reminder text messages and calls. Affordable. Prompt appointment for return job. Cons: Inadequate quality check before vehicle release. Vehicle was returned to me with poor steering alignment and front right wheel feeling over extended. Some noise in rear of vehicle which wasn't there before service.

   Don't waste your time & money going here, clearly didn't replace brake fluid when charged for it as confirmed by another trusted garage, unable to do basic diagnostics on any issues showing a CEL, it seems this "Autocentre" has no diagnostic scanner. I would call this a tyre shop at best, if you care about your car don't bring it here for anything more than that, complete waste of money & time.

   I broke down close to the shop. ( Car failed to start after picking up daughter). Received excellent immediate support and was back on the road in 30mins. All for a great price. Friendly and understanding staff members at Halfords.

   I have had a series of problems with Halfords. It is very important that you check the quality of their work, and if you have ordered anything, that everything is included. It took them three attempts to fit a car battery. Two of them at this branch. After the second attempt, the car was left in an unsafe condition, and would have failed an MoT test. The battery was loose and I had to jam it in position with a bottle of screen wash. After the battery had been fixed. They had not removed the bottle of screen wash (strange!) Be sure to ask them to preserve your electronic settings when they remove the battery.

   Work carried out is of good quality and a reasonable price. The owner and the mechanics are always friendly, approachable, and helpful unlike the receptionist who can be obnoxious. She often provides ridiculous time frames or projects an extortionate price for the work pushing you to go elsewhere and does not endeavour to help you in any way shape or form, just looks to get you out of the door as quickly as possible. Despite this, this is still my go-to garage for car servicing and repair (as long as you're not having to deal with the receptionist).

   I do not have a bad word to say about Halfords, they have been amazing every time I have used them. Called at 2.50 on a Friday afternoon as I had a slow puncture and was due to head down to Glasgow for a wedding that evening. They very kindly fit me in and managed to fit a new tyre all in the space of an hour. The receptionist was so lovely and extremely comforting as I was so distressed when I arrived, and the staff dealt with the issue so we’ll and kept me informed as to what was happening along the way. Thanks so much again Halfords ☺️

   Great service from Mitchell and team at St Claire St. today. I will definitely use again, and brake pads are covered for life and transferable. Good price too. Free coffee machine if you want to wait. Very helpful, respectful and knowledgeable. 5 star service.

   I made a phone call to Halfords as my car had broken down. Even although they were extremely busy John couldn’t have been more helpful. Dropped my car off and got a call 2 hrs later to say it was ready! A first class service from a friendly and professional member of the Halfords service team. Thanks again John. Very much appreciated.
