Took my Fiat 500, which had a few things that didn’t feel right with it, here for a service. A few hours later, I got it back, and for a fair price, everything was fixed. Very professional and no nonsense. Will definitely be coming back.
I have recently moved to Kemnay, but not knowing the area or where to take my car for an MOT test, I took my car to the Aberdeenshire Council workshop in Inverurie. The car having failed its MOT, I was looking for a decent local garage, which could be quite challenging. I asked the local Land Rover garage if they repair other makes; they said they do not but recommended Brian Downie in Kemnay, who repairs all car makes. I went straight to him and asked for an estimate, which I found quite reasonable, and booked it in for repairs. Reading some comments on Google where some say that he is rude and arrogant, I was somewhat concerned, but since I needed the car to be repaired, I thought I would put up with it. So I did. Yes, at first, he on the surface appeared to be somewhat "rude" and "arrogant," as the posters said; however, he turned out to be a very kind, honest, and helpful man. I had another quote from another garage in Inverurie, but it was more expensive, in which they also included wheel alignment, which I did not require and was not required for MOT testing either, which raised my eyebrows. Fast forward, the car was repaired, and he phoned to tell me that the car is ready. I went to pick it up and was pleasantly surprised at his honesty: the repairs cost less than initially estimated, and he also carried out a small extra work, which I really appreciated very much. Please do not be put off by his appearance, as it could be his nature, as I found him to be a very kind, honest, reasonable, and helpful mechanic. At the end, my impression completely changed, as I found him to be a pleasant person to do business with, so I would highly recommend him.
Brian's great for any Subaru owner. Has maintained mine well for the 5 years I've owned it. He's always very busy but does his best to squeeze you in.
The staff are very helpful and friendly.....plus not too expensive.......I would recommend getting a service here or an MOT......
Carried out work on car which was not necessary, while the issues which the car was booked in for weren't fixed. Car then failed MOT on the work carried out at the garage which Brian would not take ownership for or repair. Poor service, do not use!
Been using this garage for MOTs for over 20 years. The current owner has invested a lot of time and money modernising the MOT bay. Never had grounds to question any of the work they have done and have always found them trustworthy.
Brian is a real pleasure to do business with. I bought my C63 507 from him, one owner, low miles and in good condition - not so easy to find. He is clearly a real expert when it comes to performance cars and runs a great business. He really went the extra mile for me; picked me up from the airport, the car came fully serviced but he'd gone to a lot of trouble to make sure the car was right and looked it's best. Even overhauled the brakes and fitted 2 front tyres that were low but legal. It's rare these days to get such great service.
