Came in with my friends and service was great, the guy who did my nails worked so quickly and very happy with how they turned out. Fave set i’ve had.
READ BEFORE YOU GO ! Absolute rubbish lady who was doing my nails doubt she was even qualified gluing the nail tips to my skin and hardly even in my nail all diagonal had extension acrylic on one of my toes she kept taking the tip on and off she had to get someone else to help her when she finished my nail looked so big seemed like a duck nail could feel the false nail touching my other toes, had biab with extensions on my hands and it had only just hit two weeks and the actual nail has chipped. I was constantly telling the lady to fix what she was doing which isn’t really a customers job as you as a nail tech should know without having to have a customer telling you constantly, more than half way through she swapped with another nail tech which thank god she did or I would have walked out because the job she was doing was terrible work.
Good things * No appointment needed can walk in * Gel polish was quick and looked good (a week ago lol) * They take card payment Bad things * At first it just looks shabby and worn, which is fine to be honest wear and tear is a thing, but when you sit down and start getting your nails done, you look around and *everything* is grubby. * Didn't trim nails to shape them * Stains and marks everywhere, up the walls, all over the tables and equipment. * Then you see the electrical sockets with burn marks on them. * Charge an extra pound for card payments but didn't tell you this beforehand * Gel polish is breaking after a week I only wandered in here on the offchanve I could get my nails done, there's LOADS of nail bars in town so seriously doubt I'll ever be back here.
A regular to California nails but first time reviewing! Very pretty nails done here and always as expected. Had no problems and will always choose to get my nails done here.
Went here as my usual nail salon was fully booked but the service was not good and will not be returning, the nails were so thick and hardly any nail prep the nails different sizes and even when I repeatedly said they were too thick not much was done. I got a basic powder which in the shop is advertised as £32 but I was charged £33. Overall the shop was not clean the plugs were blown up and nails all over the tables and floor. Also got a slight cut from the how hard they filed my skin when I told them about the thickness of the nails
they were amazing, kind, and did my nails so well
I used California nails for years, the past two years the nails have been rubbish! Thick like cement the wait time is unreal they start somebody else and leave you sat there with tips on! They were the best in derby I would not go there again the pain after a full set was unreal I would keep going back from time to time just in case I got a good set definitely would not bother again don’t waste your money !
Had a lovely experience with a pedicure and nail paint done. The pedicure was very thorough and I got a pleasant surprise when I was asked if I would like the massage function of the chair turned on. The staff member was very thorough with my pedicure and got my feet looking less jacked. My soles were shaved and are the smoothest they’ve been in years. The staff member that applied the nail paint was really good and took his time applying the layers and putting them under the light lamp. A bonus is they have a loyalty card so each visit gets a stamp and on your 6th visit you get £5 off. Overall a very satisfying experience and will definitely come again to have my nails done.
I went here last week, along with a friend in the morning, we both got our nails done for holiday and the end result turned out to be quite sloppy since both nail techs were rushing as more customers started to arrive. A nail extension was too small for my nail, and acrylic was applied over so this looks very untidy as it doesn’t fit the nail. I came home and had to peel acrylic off my cuticles, as the filing down was rushed. Also, there are a few nails where the acrylic is now peeling (towards the cuticle due to lack of preparation) The french tip was done very sloppily, there is acrylic that still needs to be filed since it is jagged. I appreciate that each customer needs to be served but this shouldn’t mean quality should be compensated. They forgot to add gold foil, I had to go to another nail shop to finish my nails off. A not so great first experience with getting acrylics sadly, and I believe the payment should’ve been reduced since the full design wasn't met to my standards.
I had my nails done yesterday and was overall unsatisfied with how they turned out. The owner reached out to me and offered to do them again free of charge. It was a lovely gesture and they turned out great :)
