Hand my nails done there for the first time by Lorna. Had gel polish applied & very pleased with result. Test will be how long it lasts but certainly looks good

Was a disappointment today waited for a bit and people behind me got theirs before me even one who ordered very similar. There was plenty of fish coming but not getting made up and the main disappointment was seeing no real rotation in the oldest at the front it just got pushed back and as a result we ended up with really dry fish. The saving grace was the small haddock looked good better than the two standard ones im guessing this was what held ours up as it looked fresh.
I've been going here for years but I'm getting fed up........ To start off I'll say that the fish is always cooked very well, tastes fresh and is never greasy. The gluten free bater is ace, I'm not gluten intolerant but the bater is extra crispy, win! What is really really grinding my gears is the price to portion size ratio. They have won awards and in turn sky rocketed prices. I've ordered a jumbo haddock always, however lately the insult I've been handed is no larger than a standard haddock at other local chippies. Other local chippies might not have an award but the difference in quality is negligible..... I did persist, after the first time wondered if there were no jumbo fish left.... Said whatever and got on with it... Nope, same has happened over and over again. Sorry but I'm going to have to go elsewhere.
As always a fantastic service, you have to wait for your food but you order while you wait. Someone comes out and takes your order so the food can start to be prepared while you stand in the queue. Yes you will have to wait but it is a sign of how good the place is and the wait is worth it. Fantastic food (for chip shop cuisine) at a reasonable price with friendly service. We will keep on going back for our chip supers.
IT was late in the evening and the place was empty My fish was fried to order, and was lovely, but the chips tasted as if they had been sitting for a while. Soggy with small crispy bits. For an award winning chippy I was disappointed with the chips.
First class service and food quality excellent. Well worth the detour. Thanks to Facebook where I saw the ad.
