   Disappointingly over priced. I used to go to Majestic when I wanted to treat myself to something special (well, six bottles of something special due to their discount when you buy 6+ bottles) but my previous visit yielded a so-so selection of bottles and my last visit was even worse: I was struck by how young and how expensive most of he wine was; I eventually left with 6 bottles priced £15 to £35, and all but one disappointed. I would say all the wine I bought was overpriced by £5 to £10 compared to the quality / price I'm used to from my favourite two high street supermarkets. As a result I'm going to stay clear of Majestic for a couple of years to see if they can recover (or go to the wall, depending on how things play out). In the meantime I've found a small independent wine shop which I will shortly be visiting to stock up for Christmas. Oh yeah: still 3* cos they could be far worse and the service is always good.

   My wife and I went into the store before our wedding to discuss different options available. We couldn’t have received better advice from the experts in store. There was no pressure to purchase any products and samples a variety of wines which helped our decision making.

   I went to browse in store and was politely greeted by a friendly member of staff who offered help and advice if I required it. I was offered a sample of wine (of which I gratefully accepted) and not pressurised into purchasing anything. After being left to browse at my own pace and deciding upon which case to buy, the gentleman kindly offered to carry my goods to the car if necessary. Great service all round!

   As someone with little wine knowledge trying to find the perfect gift, Jeff couldn't have been more helpful. He was so knowledgable and it was a pleasure to learn so much from him. He directed us to the perfect wine (La Casetta) which went down a treat with the recipient of the gift. Thanks Jeff!

   Shamefully I am a good customer here, although visit more when wanting a special treat or have guest round. David and the team here are all hugely helpful and very knowledgeable. This is my local branch but also one of the best I have been too by a long way. Stock is good too, wines spirits and even champagne, which is currently been difficult to get. Highly recommended.
