My SEND daughter was unable to attend. We applied around Easter 24, had funding agreed for September, they then wanted my 1.5yo to have 2 adults to her. Which every other professional and myself felt was completely unnecessary and we felt like they were blocking her attending. I had to continue to chase them for updates on when they'd recruited and the September start. September she was unable to start due to not having a 1:1. And by November we were still left with nothing in place. No communication from them, and the last phone call I had, the admin team seemed unaware that they had a 1:1 vacancy!!! When i asked about applicants for her 1:1, they at one point had offered someone the job, but we're awaiting a reply for weeks... they said if they turned it down, they had another applicant, but as the weeks sent on, before this person declined, I had no more information. Finally I asked for a refund of my deposit, for her stating there, which I have chased, and although they said they would refund me, I've not yet received any money back for a service they couldn't provide! I have more negative feedback, and we didn't even start!!! In response to your reply, why do I have to send an email AGAIN after I've sent over 20 and phone over 13 times?!? I really hope this will achieve something, but I am really not convinced!

Highly recommend, my son joined the nursery in December 2023, and that was the best decision that we could make. All the staff are amazing and highly experienced. My son enjoyed every single moment. You all will be missed. Thanks you very much for everything ❤️❤️

After my eldest daughter attended YMCA Woolston, who was very happy here, I decided to enrol my youngest daughter. My eldest didn’t enjoy the previous nursery she attended, so I was very worried about her joining YMCA Woolston. After she settled in, she loved going to nursery and the preschool team prepared her very well for school. Moving my eldest was the best decision I could’ve made, she was very happy here. My youngest has only attended YMCA for 6 months, in these 6 months she has thrived. She gets excited when it’s her day for nursery. Her observations have lots of detail, tells me what she is learning and what she has learnt from it, the picture’s back up the observation. As an experienced Nursery Practitioner and a parent, I highly recommend this nursery to friends, family and others. This nursery is nurturing, caring and supportive.

Such an amazing Nursery!! My daughter has come on leaps and bounds since being here! Staff in the preschool room are friendly and professional! They have such lovely activities out for the children and always put the children first and help the children thrive to the best of their abilities! If you’re looking for somewhere to send your child I 110% recommend! :)

Hannah was an excellent employee who responded to my emails in a timely manner, helped me solve problems, and arranged sessions for my son very quickly. Yesterday, we met my son's Key person Katy and Cristina. They have helped and answered a lot of our questions. Cristina is very professional and skilled, and Katy is gentle and sincere,I really like both of them, and I hope my son will enjoy it here.

My son was attending to YMCA for couple of months and never seemed to be able to settle in, all tho he is an open, happy child. The stuff doesn’t seem to be bothered and I don’t feel like they are trained enough to take care of children. We where called multiple times to collect our son sometimes without a good reason. There was a situation where I was called to collect my son and had rude follow up calls, the person on the phone couldn’t understand that my husband got stuck in traffic that’s why it took a tiny bit longer. After taking our son home we discovered he’s completely fine, didn’t have a diarrhea at all, when asked what was the problem the stuff said he had one loose poo. We where excluded for 48 h despite there where no other symptoms. We where called couple of times because our son was crying and no one could calm him down, on one occasion like that when we where called because of crying (which for me is very alarming, as in my opinion they should be able to calm a crying child!) the stuff couldn’t calm him at all to the point where he got sick from all the crying. We where called to collect him and excluded for 48 hours because of vomiting, all tho on the phone they clearly said it’s happening because he’s crying and they can’t calm him down. Our son was always rushing to go home and always said we left him there for too long.. his development wasn’t as fast, he never came back home with any new songs learned or any new skills, but always very hungry.. We moved him to a different pre school and everything changes from the week one, he settled in straight away, he’s always happy to go there and doesn’t want to go home sometimes! He’s language skills, behaviour and other skills are so much better just after few weeks in the new place. He’s not as chaotic and much calmer. I wouldn’t recommend YMCA Woolston to anyone.. the most stressful experience!

My child has been going here for some time now and absolutely loves it! When he first started the staff were really happy to hear that he liked to play Cowboys and Indians, I really enjoy knowing that they are encouraging him to pursue a good career in the future he has told me on different days that he wants to be a cop, a construction worker or just work with leather. After having a mini-career day at the setting I was overjoyed that he now wants to follow in his great-grandfathers footsteps and be "in the navy" when he is older, it must be the settings close location to the waterfront that has him thinking like this.

My son has a great time at the nursery. There is lots of space and a large garden. He has an excellent relationship with his key person. Staff are always quick to deal with any issues that arise. I can see he is well cared for and loved!

Very disorganised pre school and learning. The staff are not good at integrating children, they seem to do as little as possible. My granddaughter changed from a very happy outgoing little girl, to a subdued shy young girl in the space of a few weeks. SHe had a minor health problem that I feel was discriminated against, and not taken seriously. The staff seem to call my son to collect my granddaughter for the smallest sniffle or cough to the point she was at home more than she was there. She is not a sickly child, there is a real air of "cant be bothered" in the playschool. A lot more training in caring for children and willingness to want to,is needed here. My granddaughter was moved 4 weeks ago and has settled beautifully into her new environment. The change in her has been astounding.
