The care I received whilst pregnant from several GPs has been very good and I appreciate the support. Where I needed to see a doctor, they were able to help and give an appointment. Thank you
A travesty of a practice, time and time again. The majority of the googlers, sorry doctors, consistently fail to put patient care first and display an attitude and arrogance that has no place in the NHS. Tired premises, insufficient parking, laughably bad telephony, online and IT systems and a generally abrupt and unhelpful culture among staff, particularly on reception. You have more chance of seeing a Dodo than a GP. I could go on. Sadly, Google doesn’t provide for a zero star review. Avoid at all costs, if you can.
I cannot express enough thanks to the best care that I have received recently from the Practice, Dr Milligan, Dr Dugmore and Sam, and receptionist staff. I struggled with covid and pneumonia and they took care of me and looked after me with so much care and understanding. Thank you so much for everything this last month. I still have a road of recovery ahead of me, but without your support I would have been lost. X
My experience with receptionists: Once my son was refused of an emergency appointment, even if he showed the receptionist his infected arm, when I was parking. He was told there was absolutely no appointment on that day. I went in and demanded, then suddenly an appointment became available. The doctor he saw was super, he predicted the infection may not be contained by oral antibiotics and referred my son to hospital where he stayed four nights for intensive treatment. The receptionist’s conduct almost cost a young child’s arm or even life.
Wonderful GP practice. The receptionists are always very empathic and helpful. Every doctor, nurse and paramedic are very knowledgeable, efficient and truly caring. It's very reassuring to have them as my GPs.
I've been coming to this practice since I was a child and I've never had any problems. I've always been able to get a routine, non urgent appointment in a timely manner and have been able to be seen on the same day with urgent matters. I've seen Dr. Ghaffar for my last 2 routine appointments, and he truly is an asset to Swallowfield. I couldn't recommend him highly enough.
When you get to see a doctor it is a great practice but the telephone staff are nothing short of appalling. Really unhelpful, efficacious and generally abnoxious. I appreciate they are busy but the receptionist is just plain rude and shouldn’t be working in a service industry and dealing with unwell people. No charm, no bedside matter and no compassion.
If you’re lucky enough to get an appointment the doctors and nurses are great but you need a miracle to get an appointment. Whenever I’ve had to call, I’ve waited an hour to get through to be told but an unhelpful receptionist there are no appointments and call back at 1.30!! Was told to take my 2 year old to A&E if we can’t wait. How is this an efficient service? Why can’t the practise use online booking services like other GPs? Then they’d free up the phone lines for people that can’t use online services? I will be switching practises ASAP.
Me and my family (3 children and husband) have all been registered here for over 20 years. It’s an amazing surgery, professional, proactive, the doctors always listen and are kind and approachable. We have always been seen face to face with anything urgent. They were brilliant during Covid. I hear lots of stories of other surgeries still not seeing patients face to face, or waiting weeks for urgent appointments, and I’m so glad we are at Swallowfield! They are all brilliant - lovely surgery!
