   Absolutely magical day out! My daughter LOVED the little games in the gardens and wheelbarrows. The café was lovely and all the staff were so welcoming and friendly especially Sandy! The main house was so much better than what I was expecting, it was absolutely BEAUTIFUL and my daughter loved the dress up room, that was our favourite part! There was so much to do and see, we really had such a perfect day here! Thank you for having us!

   The building itself has a fantastic history, it used to be a priory, then a tudor house, then a 19th century manor house. Luckily they found evidence hidden in the walls from the priory era, so we can peak into its history. The grounds are amazing as well, great for walking the dogs. There are two cafes on the premises, plenty of toilet facilities and parking spaces. The stream is clean and full of massive trouts. The house was in a Christmas decoration already today with a Cinderella theme. The rooms looked magnificent and it was funny to find cute mice everywhere. It is well worth a visit!

   Relaxing grounds (that go as far as eye can see if you want to explore rambling) with the Test River flowing through, plus a house conversion (it was an Abbey until that thing in the middle ages). The walled gardens are wonderful to walk around - we will return in spring for the bloomin' roses. There was an exhibition of Ian Flemming's children book Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (I'm sure the last 2 words of title actually pay homage to his many 007 James Bond books). Ian visited Motisfont several times and each room has a little info panel about his visits. Great to have the volunteers around to ask questions and take groups on tours, which brings the place to life.

   Mottisfont run by the NT was a gem hidden in the Hampshire countryside. We had been recommended the Rose garden and even though the roses and many of the flowers were past there best show ( June) there were many beautiful roses and flowers to see. The scents were heavenly, I especially like old fashioned roses with scents to match, well worth sticking your nose near the rose petals as the perfume was fabulous. Everywhere was within easy access I was with my 91 yrs old Mother who is not as steady on her feet but managed to get around with a couple of seat stops and a cuppa in the old kitchen cafe on arrival! Great day out

   What a splendid place to spend a day! I loved the River walk and there are some magnificent trees, really huge and old. Lots to learn in the house. Don't miss the Walled garden and Water garden. Two nice cafes plus smaller one in the walled garden. The NT shop is the nicest I have seen. Everything is set out in a very attractive way.

   An early morning drive took us on our own little adventure to National Trust - Mottisfont. We were blessed with a sunny, albeit chilly day for our journey, and we were not disappointed! Taking care when walking around the establishment, due to icy conditions, we set for a walk around the gardens before the house opened at 11am. Unfortunately, due to the icy conditions, the river walk was closed. However, we still got to see the winter garden, the walled garden, and the gardens around the house itself. What we did see of the river was pretty and sitting on the banks in the warmer months; watching the water flow and listening to its calming sounds would be a treat! Inside, the house was lovely preserved and presented, displaying the house as it would have looked when the family lived there. The bedrooms were grand, particularly the guest bedroom! The views from each room covered the vast landscape across the gardens. The study was my favourite as the desk was set in fob of the large window looking out - not sure I would have got much work done myself! Upstairs, we were fortunate to see the artwork of Norman Thelwell, which was on loan, displayed on the walls in its glory. It was a great morning, and it would be great to visit again to see the changing landscape in the other UK seasons.

   Not quite the hottest day of the year, but with the river running through the grounds the temperature was a little reduced. The walled garden was beautiful & the lavender in full flower left a heady perfume. Do take time to stand by the river & watch the fish drift pass, it's all very relaxing.

   Had a lovely time walking in the walled gardens on a summers evening with the late opening. Rest of the year is great too,beautiful grounds, facilities are clean, house is interesting and staff are always friendly. Great for young children as usually a trail or activities on and a brilliant climbing area.

   The sun came out for our visit to National Trust’s Mottisfont this weekend which is well worth a visit. It has beautiful grounds and there is something for everyone to enjoy. Mottisfont is very accessible. It’s conveniently located with vast, roomy car parking space, including a convenient disabled area. It is mostly on flat ground with even access and there is a golf buggy regularly on hand to help you skip the 10 minute stroll to the rose garden should you need the ride. Entry is pricey unless you’re a NT member and I have dropped a star due to the exorbitant prices in the numerous eateries which offer plenty of choice and inclusivity but have got greedy.. no slice of cake is worth £3.75. Definitely pack a picnic to enjoy; there are lots of green and beautiful areas and picnic tables scattered around. The house was sadly closed when we visited with the wet play area also out of bounds and there are a few areas in need of repair, most disappointing being their beautiful bridge across the stunning river in the grounds which will hopefully see some TLC soon. The walled gardens live up to their hype and are a horticulturist’s dream. There is a vast gift shop on site with beautiful offerings but the prices are eye watering! There is an outside play area for the kids and lots of places for running and exploring, including some challenges for the little ones to undertake. Ring ahead to check what is open before your visit to avoid disappointment but all in all a lovely day and well worth a few hours visit if you’re a member.

   Best visited in the sunshine as the grounds are extensive. The walled garden is one of the best tended we have seen. From Spring time onward it will be a mass of colour. The house is interesting but the grounds are what this historic property is all about. There are lovely walks including beside the River Test.
