   Extremely disappointed with the service. My solicitor at Dutton Gregory allowed my property purchase to proceed even though the developer had already entered liquidation before exchange. This is a fundamental failure of due diligence. A simple insolvency check before exchange or completion would have prevented serious financial loss. This mistake should never happen in professional conveyancing. I cannot recommend this firm based on my experience.

   This has to be a new low for a solicitors firm for any interaction I have required using a solicitor in the past. Absolutely dreadful from start to finish. Had 4 different people dealing with the process of buying and selling our house, never knew why or who would come back to us. Requested an update and then got 17 attachments 8 weeks later. Sent legal documents for signing in wrong names and wrong dates. blamed I.T Received emails that we replied to that did not go to the correct people. blamed I.T Promised to send back a certificate same day. had to chase on more than one occasion but did mange to get back weeks later - blamed admin. Should have received funds back on completion day. Had to chase and was told 'sorry I forgot about that' All in all struggling to find anything positive to say about this company. plenty of negatives and would highly recommend to use a different company. Charge prices at a premium but not backed up in any way. seems a company that charges 'champagne' price but delivers 'beer' valued service.

   Unfortunately, my experience with Nicky Marsh, who was appointed as my conveyancing solicitor, was disappointing. As a first-time buyer, I found her email communication to be unnecessarily rude, which made the process more stressful than it needed to be. Additionally, I found it extremely difficult to get in touch by phone, despite repeated attempts over several months. After completing the purchase, I shared feedback on my experience in the hope it might be taken on board, but it was dismissed and not acknowledged meaningfully. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this solicitor firm.

   Absolutely appalling service from Dutton Gregory Solicitors. It's been over two years since the purchase of our property, and shockingly, the title still hasn't been registered in our name. This is a basic legal requirement that any competent conveyancing solicitor should have handled promptly. Their laziness and complete lack of communication have now put us in a terrible position: we are unable to re-mortgage to a fixed rate, leaving us exposed to much higher mortgage payments in an already difficult financial climate. We have chased repeatedly for updates, but have been met with either silence or vague excuses. This kind of negligence is completely unacceptable, especially when dealing with something as important and life-changing as buying a home. I would strongly advise anyone considering using Dutton Gregory for conveyancing to look elsewhere — save yourself the stress, financial risk, and months (or years) of worry.

   I was recommended Dutton Gregory by the Sales team in a new development where I purchased my flat. Well what can I say! BEST SERVICE EVER!! I dealt with Paige throughout the whole flat process who was an absolute star! Nothing was ever too much for her and I had a lot of questions. Paige was so friendly and ever so helpful. The turnaround was so quick. I was in my flat within 8 weeks of reserving it. I would honestly recommend Paige, Emily and Gareth and will be coming back here in the future.

Helping us complete on our first buy to let, they were patient, kind, friendly and incredibly responsive, even to stressy emails and phone calls when we were panicking about some detail!    Solicitors are not generally known for their attention to customer service. But when handling my conveyancing, Dutton Gregory reach a new low, tarnishing the reputation of all solicitors everywhere. My solicitor went on holiday not once, but twice, at crucial points in the process, including two days before exchange. Nobody contacted me to tell me this - I found out that my buyers were ready to exchange from my estate agent - and everyone seemed surprised that I should expect it. A simple email would have done, explaining that my solicitor was away, when she would be back and who was handling my file in her absence. It's not rocket science, it's easy. Instead, I was left with urgent and important legal questions and nobody to answer them. Let me repeat - I found out that my buyers were ready to exchange from my estate agent! Not the solicitor that I was paying over a grand to handle the legal side. She didn't even know, because she was on holiday! When I complained, I received a haughty email from Sarah Sams, a partner at the firm, offering no apology, defending and justifying everything that had happened, and saying, "... it is not possible not [sic] notify all client’s [sic] individually when a member of staff is due to take annual leave." This is such obvious nonsense that it beggars belief that anyone would write it. It would take less than 10 minutes to send an email to a list of clients. The problem isn't just that this wasn't done, it's that nobody at Dutton Gregory thinks it is worth doing. Sarah Sams' email displays the root of the problem at Dutton Gregory perfectly. It comes from the top. Nobody cares about customer service there - they don't even know what it is. So this dreadful vacuum where customer service should be isn't going to get better, because the partners at Dutton Gregory cannot see it. As a result, they provide a lazy, complacent service, accompanied by an arrogant, high-handed manner. If you make the mistake of using them, expect the bare minimum, low interest in your situation, late responses or no reply at all to emails and messages, and your solicitor disappearing without notice with no cover. Only gave two stars because they did actually manage the simple task of doing the admin for the sale. Otherwise it would've been one.

   Having recommended Dutton Gregory for a few years they've recently assisted me with a remortgage, sale and purchase, with another family sale progressing currently. Can't fault any of the team, Paul & Frankie have primarily looked after these transactions and been on hand to assist and answer queries quickly. Always the best service from Dutton Gregory even during a pandemic and the ever increasing expectations from many clients.
