Lovely theatre set in a converted old mill. There is also a bar and restaurant. We used the bar for drinks before and after the show. Prices are reasonable, the selection beers is good and the staff were very friendly. We visited to see Charley's Aunt. The play was excellent! It was extremely funny and also very relevant today. The cast were fantastic and the production was first rate.

Beautiful theatre in a lovely area. Great for shows & eating out. I saw Jesus Chris Superstar with a group of friends & loved it. It was such a great production & each actor were superb. Highly recommend both the show & theatre.

This is probably the most delightful, atmospheric and beautiful theatre you could have the pleasure of visiting - even the resident ducks are uniquely cute!! Moreover, we have just had the privilege of witnessing a phenomenal adaptation of Jesus Christ Superstar…..we were all blown away with the stunning perfection of the performances: what incredible talent! We were a mixed family group and some of us weren’t keen/weren’t sure if it would be ‘our vibes’! But any doubting Thomas, be reassured this will spread joy throughout your body and soul! The songs, music, acting, staging, dancing and lighting - all aspects were so powerfully impactful, to propel you across the emotional spectrum. We are even planning a return visit before the show ends! Can’t recommend it enough, it’s a 100/10 type of scoring ;) Also, our food and drinks were all delicious and we experienced brilliant service.

My favourite theatre in England. So serene and feels like something out of a fairy tale. Excellent restaurant, friendly staff, feels like home

A lovely theatre venue in the country side. The performance of Piaf was amazing with great performers and musicians. Great outdoor space to relax pre post and during show interval. And the venue was nice and cool inside despite it being nearly 30 degrees outside which was good. The staff were all lovely and helpful and can't wait to see another show here

A stunning location and building. The bar and catering was top notch. So well organised and reasonably priced. Arrive early to enjoy the surroundings. The pre ordered interval drinks were placed on a table which you were directed to by an usher after giving the name the order was placed under. There is also a beautiful Watermill that they have made visible through a viewing window just outside the theatre. Parking well organised Can't wait to visit again!

Excellent performance. Staff were friendly and professional. Very intimate setting with stage almost 'in the round'. Lovely building and great to see some of the original features still there. Would definitely consider going again.

Such a fantastic adaption of the old Watermill, which retains the water-wheel inside. A very comfortable & intimate small theatre set in lovely grounds alongside the river. There is also a picturesque restaurant & bar. Great shows are performed throughout the year some of which will then go on-tour. Several West End Plays have premiered here.

I wat he'd a family show here today and it was brilliant! They really got the kids involved! Absolutely loved it! They had some sweets which were only 80p each and drinks from the bar were really reasonably priced aswell! Great family day out!

I went with my granddaughter to see the musical adaptation of Graham Greene's Our Man in Havana at the Watermill Theatre in Newbury. It was the opening night. We had a two course meal beforehand. It was freshly cooked and quite delicious. Afterwards we walked in the beautiful gardens beside a small river. Taking out seats in the gallery, we climbed a winding staircase. The small Theatre of around 200 seats was full. The performance was lively and quite fun with singing and dancing. The Musical Director Antonio was on stage throughout the whole play, which was no mean feat! Apart from playing the piano and turning his own music sheets, he also sang as well as directed. The other performers were equally enthusiastic and dedicated to their roles. It was a lovely evening out in the countryside and I recommend The Watermill Theatre as a place to frequent.
