The GPs at this surgery are absolutely fantastic. They are genuinely caring, knowledgeable and thorough. They repeatedly demonstrate care that thinks out side of the box, and is actually individualised. I couldn’t fault the medical care here at all. However they are incredibly let down by the reception team. The customer service is non-existent. We have repeatedly been met with rudeness, unhelpful responses and a patronising tone that makes accessing care far more stressful than it needs to be. There’s a real sense of dismissiveness when you speak to them - as though callers are an inconvenience rather than the reason the service exists. It often feels like the phone version of ‘keyboard warriors’ which is such a shame when kindness, patience and basic professionalism are all that’s needed (and also what they’re paid to do) The contrast between the excellent GPs and the reception experience is stark. It’s disappointing that such a brilliant clinical team is overshadowed by a front of house approach that doesn’t reflect the standard patients should reasonably expect. I hope the surgery takes this feedback seriously because the potential for a truly outstanding practice is there but they are repeatedly let down by the women answering their phones.

This surgery is very poor and the reception staff are rude and unhelpful. They operate a system where you can not book appointments in person or over the phone. You have to use an online system for all appointments, even ones several days forward, and that system closes after it reached a set number of bookings made, so unless you happen to get ill in the morning you can not book an appointment at all until the system reopens the following morning. Thus you are left not knowing until the following morning whether or when you will be age to book an appointment at all in the near future. The whole system is set up to prevent appointment bookings and putting in place barriers to that. NOT REMOTELY PATIENT CENTERED. It is very stressful for patients that may not have IT access, or those in need of prompt care, simply not able to access it through this surgery. If we could give 0 out of 5 we would.

0 stars was unavailable. Rang for an appointment on 01/09/25 was told to go online, no appointments available, called back and the receptionist told me to call back tomorrow as she couldn’t help me, I asked to speak to a Doctor. I was told to try again the next day, no advice to call 111 or even asking what was wrong. I did call 111 and got sent to A&E, being kept in overnight on observations. Diagnosed with AF and put on medication. Will be looking into changing doctors. 0Stars.

Staff is nice and cooperative. We are usually called for the appointment on time. Once we got late for our baby's 1st vaccination because our baby was irritable that day and as FT parents we were not that good at managing things. The nurse still agreed to give the vaccine for which we are really grateful. Thank you for your service.

I know there is a lot of bad reviews for Hungerford medical center but if I’m completely honest I’ve had some wonderful experiences. In the past with other doctors I’ve been told my illnesses where just in my head to just lose weight or to jsut give up here I’ve had doctors care about what I’ve been saying and look into depths with my conditions and sicknesses. One doctor took one look at me and sent me to hospital for treatment due to my condition being so bad! You don’t get that everyday all I can say is thank you all for the help and support from mental health doctors to nurses to doctors everyone at the practice has been lovely and very helpful. The only downside is wait times for appointments but other than that I’ve had NO other issues this far. Thank you all again.

Absolutely shocking ring for an emergency appointment have tell receptionist everything then get put on nurse call back list for them decide if you can be seen. I rang got put on list as soon as I hung up I nipped toilet I hear phone ringing and as I'm struggling to walk I didn't get to phone in time so got a text saying try again tomorrow. She literally rang seconds after me ringing for an appointment so now I'm in pain having to wait till tomorrow and no doubt I won't even get seen anyway.

Everyone is so quick to criticise but no one gives praise where due. Both my husband and myself have received first class treatment from Hungerford. Today I rang at 8 am for an appointment, only had to wait 4 minutes for a reply and was referred to a nurse who rang me back a quarter of hour later. She arranged an appointment for 10 a. m where I was seen by a doctor who prescribed medicine for me and I was back home by 10. 20 a.mMy husband also received great service when he was ill just before Christmas. Thank you to everyone concerned

Called for an emergency appointment and was given a useless phone call. Dr didn't listen to a word I was saying told me to ride it out and hung up the phone 2 minutes later. Apparently if I want an in person appointment I have to ring next week! The whole reason I rang this morning for an emergency appointment in the first place. Meanwhile I've not worked in 2 weeks and I'm supposed to be starting a new job on Monday ... Dr clearly don't care and definitely doesn't deserve the salary she is on. I could do the same thing sat at a desk on google!

Absolutely shocking care. I had private surgery, which I could of had on the NHS, but I didn't want to wait. So I've saved the NHS money. I require some blood tests following the surgery and they have refused. It took them 2 months and many emails and calls from me to finally come back with a NO. Disgusting. Requested a copy of their complaints procedure and they have still not come back to me. Do yourself a favour and register with another GP Practice.
