I took my girlfriend here as a birthday treat (a half day bird of prey session), and we both found it to be a genuinely wonderful experience. Sadie was a great host, full of enthusiasm and interesting information, and the birds were a joy to interact with.
We had the BEST time a few weeks ago at Feathers and Fur - we did the half day falconry session and met so many different birds. We spent quality time with each bird and were able to hold/fly each one and watch its natural behaviour. Our guide, Olivia, was so knowledgable and clearly loves the animals so much. Highly recommend!
I came for a half day falconry experience to try and face my phobia of birds. I couldn’t recommend this place enough - the staff (especially Olivia who led the session) was extremely professional, passionate about their birds and very understanding of my phobia. First couple of times were a bit scary but felt so much at ease with these amazing, beautiful creatures. The birds were so calm and gorgeous to see up close. All staff are friendly and accommodating - I honestly can’t recommend this place enough. I am looking forward to coming back again.
Amazing experience! Highly recommend! I booked it for my father’s gift and he loved it. The booking experience to the actual day was smooth and inviting. Olivia was an excellent teacher and her passion for our feathery friends was clear and added just that much more to the experience. The birds were funny and sassy! A small place but really great staff. The falconers are very knowledgeable, the birds well kept and only currently £4 for an adult ,£2 for children . They even do birthday parties as well as falconry and owl experiences. Norman the Eagle owl is lovely. Definitely worth a visit.
What an amazing 10th birthday treat. This was a party of 3 adults and 7 children, the youngest being 6… the eldest 60. We had an amazing experience. Thank you Olivia for spending over an hour teaching us about your beautiful birds, your love and passion for them literally filled the room. SO much information and really interesting facts. Our experience was having a beautiful barn owl first flying to each of us after we had been given a handlers glove and explanation of what to expect and how to behave in the interests of the birds. After the barn owl came the kestrel and then the Harris hawk. An outstanding experience which we will 100% be doing again. As an extra special treat for our birthday girl she got to hold a snowy owl (that looked just like Hedwig.) you could feel her vibrating with the excitement of that opportunity. So a very special thank you to Olivia for recognising a fellow bird lover in that little girl.
Had a wonderful time, as this was my birthday gift. It's hard to discribe the feeling when one of these majestic creatures land on your left hand. Maybe I could do it with a poem... These stunning birds are well taken care of. We were also lucky that weather was great. Sadie, the owner, is fun and intelligent lady and I want to thank her for the experience.
Sometime small is beautiful and that is very true of Feathers and Fur, I attended a photography experience which was very relaxed Sadie was very helpful and the static settings for the birds gives some very natural shots. We'll worth the money and a place I will be visiting again. Have returned for another Photography experience and really must say that Sadie provides one of the best experiences around the area, her handling of the birds is superb allowing the opportunity to get some great photos. I am just staggered by the photos I am getting from the centre and cannot praise it enough, if you are thinking about trying a photo experience do not hesitate you really will not be disappointed.
Amazing and unforgettable handling experience, up close and personal with several beautiful owls. Olivia is so informative and clearly loves and cares for the birds. We were treated so kindly and time wasn't an issue. They were all very healthy and free flying. Very highly recommended for all ages.
