   Sub89 is a lively venue that’s great for gigs and club nights, with an atmosphere that always feels energetic and fun. The sound system is strong and the space is big enough to hold a crowd while still feeling intimate. Drinks are reasonably priced for a music venue and the staff keep things running smoothly at the bar and doors. It can get packed on busy nights but that adds to the vibe, making it a good spot if you’re after live music or a night out in Reading.

   For me, this has to be one of the best venues around. It is small enough that there are never mass crowds to the point where it is unpleasant. The bar is well staffed with decent prices on the beer. Toilets are large and well maintained. The sound system is very good and due to its size, you can nearly always see, even if you are super short!

   Well positioned in Reading next to the Train / Buses and opposite Siren Craft Brewery tap room this is a compact but not unpleasant multimodal venue. Went there for a metal gig and did enjoy it bonus point for the sound which wasn't terrible.

   Central Reading music & comedy venue. Decent size for small gigs upstairs (is guess around 250-300 capacity upstairs. Good space with good eyelines from most points, but there are a couple of pillars near the front on either side. Worth staking out a spot just in front of one of those if you can. Beer selection was pretty good, but priced at London prices (as a lot of Reading is). Worth getting on the mailing list to see what's coming up.

   Great venue in the heart of Reading. The team here are excellent and we were served drinks pretty quickly even though it was busy, good value too. The sound is great with good view of stage. I saw Sham 69 on this occasion and look forward to going back.....The Kids Are United !!!

   So good that this venue is still going. Big enough for a crowd, small enough that you don't feel swamped. Expensive beer, but that's to be expected. Friendly staff

   Tight little venue, hot on a summers evening when full and when I say hot, I mean dripping... Reasonably priced drinks, staff very nice. Fabulous to see a 'big' band play such a small venue.
