I had a truly outstanding experience with Cryres. The office is highly professional and reliable. A special thanks goes to George, who is exceptionally helpful, attentive, and always willing to go the extra mile to make everything smooth and stress-free. His professionalism and friendly attitude made the whole process so much easier. I truly appreciate his support and would highly recommend Cryers and George to anyone looking for trustworthy and excellent real estate services.

I have had a really good and seamless experience so far with Cryers Lettings. They have helped me secure a lovely place and I will be moving in soon. Special thanks to George Barron, who has been prompt, attentive and very supportive throughout this process so far. I look forward to continuing this positive experience with them!

Moved in about a month ago with Cryers and so far, so good. Special shout-out to George, who has somehow managed to remain patient and sane despite receiving yet another contradictory email from yet another one of our six-strong household. (Frankly, most people would’ve gone mad by now.) Communication has been quick, and both the agent and landlord have been really helpful with the little things that popped up during our first month of settling in.

Moving into rented accommodation as a student was made stress-free from the support from George. He handled each tenant with care and was very outgoing to make sure the moving in process was as smooth as possible. Any questions or issues were dealt with in a good timely manner from both George and other agents. George was also very helpful with introducing and communicating with the landlords which created an overall positive result for our move in. Would definitely recommend!

AVOID Cryers and Countrywide. This letting agents lives up to all the negative stereotypes and more. Bad for tenants, worse for landlords. Very difficult to contact. Didn't do a single inspection in 2.5 years of tenancy. Ignores all maintenance requests - when you finally manage to contact them they tell you to put in a maintenance request and then demand proof that you have done so before taking any actions (which will take months). Took 5 months to get deposit back (in full, so why did it take so long?). Had numerous issues surrounding the fact they had the wrong phone number for us. I corrected them on no less than five times (that I could provide proof of) and then when I escalated the complaint the customer service team came back to me with the wrong phone number AGAIN. Funnily enough they ignored that part of the complaint after realising they'd repeated the very mistake I was complaining about. We had our neighbour break into our flat using a crowbar while we were inside. A traumatising experience. I call the manager of Cryers to confirm I could immediately replace the lock because it was the evening and our front door was busted. I get a call back 15 minutes after from the property manager very angrily telling me I would be in breach of contract if I replaced that lock (I wish I knew at the time this is categorically not true). Even ignoring the fact the agent was just wrong - where is the empathy calling somebody having a go at them on the same day they've just fought off a cocaine fueled burglar. We asked to breach our tenancy in order to get out of the property because the neighbour mentioned above lived below us and was harassing us constantly. We even offered to pay a further 2 months rent after we'd moved out. We were desperate. It took weeks to even get this request acknowledged as the person we contacted in regards to it went on holiday and didn't tell anybody. This was after, again, finding it near impossible to contact Cryers - this time because the email addresses of all our contacts had changed. The staff turnover rate in that place is crazy. I wonder why. Towards the end of our tenancy the owner decided to sell. In the process of arranging for them to come take photographs Morris Dibben was employed to do this (also owned by Countrywide). The manager of Morris Dibben did not contact us to say he was coming to do photographs and tried to let himself into our home. No knock or ring of the doorbell. Just let himself in. Then acted like we were the ones in the wrong after he let himself into our front door. Insane. There's actually so much more I could write here about Cryers. Just avoid them. Save yourself the stress.

I have been working with Cryers for a number of years as a landlord; they manage my properties. I have 100% confidence in their actions and intentions and this made me expend my portfolio already and will continue to do so. They have a pro-active attitude towards helping and sorting things out; they never ignore any details. Friendly staff, Holly in deposit is very good at organising & communicating, e-mails are always accompanied with a call. Michael. Landlord.

Whatever you do, don't use this letting agency. Communication is very, very poor, they pass the problem on and fail to take ownership. The high turnover in Cryers staff speaks volumes. There were dead rats in the house and Cryers advice was to spray some air freshener! I have the email from Cryers telling us to do that if there is any doubt. Water was cascading from the first floor to the ground floor via the electrical lights, multiple emails and phone calls fell on deaf ears. Just ask around in Southampton to get a fair view of Cryers and their reputation, it's not good. Despite saying they wouldn't hold back the deposit they did. I now have to spend, time, money and resource going to the Tenancy Deposit Scheme (TDS) because Cryers have washed their hands. They have however taken another deposit from five unwitting Students for the house they say they can't help us with because Cryers say "we can't get in touch with the Landlord" The same Landlord & Cryers deal they have done to re-let the property, failed to return our deposit but managed to take another deposit on the same property. I believe they are wholly dishonest and untrustworthy.

To anyone who wishes to rent a property from Cryers. I have never written a review for any business before but I feel like I have to after my experience with Cryers. The first issue we had was the fact that there was a leak in the loft which caused the ceiling in one of our bedrooms to collapse and make the room uninhabitable. This is of course not Cryers fault but their response was shocking. It took dozens of phone calls and emails before any work happened on the property. I will keep this short and say that it took 10 weeks before we could use the room again. We are entitled to get a discount on the rent for not being able to use the room for over 2 months, we bought this up many times but to deaf ears, they know that as students we cant afford to take them to court over the matter so they simply don't care. We moved out of the property last week after 6 long and tiresome months. WE got an email taking insane amounts of money off the property. This included £235 for cleaning even though we made sure to leave the property spotless and £90 for weeding. WE decided to send a friend over to the house to check on their work, it turns out that they have actually done anything and the small alley and drive still has weeds on it and we have no garden! We are going to dispute the money they are going to take off our deposit with TDS and recommend anyone else in the same situation to do the same thing. all in all they are useless, don't care about your welfare and only want your money. It sickens me on how they prey on students when they can be more vulnerable than the average tenant. I have attached photos of the great weeding we paid £90 for.
