   I am a professional landlord starting out building my BTL portfolio and am lucky to have found Ken whilst researching letting agents to use in the area. Ken is extremely professional and brilliant at what he does. Ultra responsive, he cares about the service that he delivers and makes sure he addresses situations with the upmost due diligence. My 2 bed BTL flat is now let to a lovely couple but the tenancy find was not rushed. We discussed the pros and cons of certain tenants vs the target tenant I was after for the property and, as a result, we landed and a great find. This is contrary to a lot of other letting agents whose purpose is to get the property let as quickly as possible. Ken is mindful of this but with being a landlord himself knows the challenges picking an incorrect tenant can come with. Ken’s always at the end of the phone day or night and has a team of professionals he works with that respond to issues quickly and efficiently. If you are a landlord letting property in Derby I would highly recommend working with Ken. I will be continuing to work with him as I expand my portfolio in Derby over the coming years.

   Myself and 5 others spent our second and third years at uni in a lovely house on Ashbourne road. The house it’s self was lovely and Ken was very responsive and happy to help. During our time here there were some issues that we had with the landlord turning up without 24 hours notice and we were told that 24 hours notice was only needed for our rooms and not for the communal areas, which I believe should not be the case. We also had some issues with the regularity of the gardener and the cleaners, at the beginning of our tenancy the cleaner and gardener came regularly, during covid this became less frequent which is understandable, however, after returning to ‘normal’ the frequency of the gardener and cleaner did not return to usual. Towards the end of our tenancy we were extremely disappointed to find out that the landlord was claiming that we had broken tiles in the bathrooms and was trying to deduct costs to repair this damage from our deposits, however the cracks in these tiles were there before we moved in and there is photo evidence of this. After discussing this with Ken the charges were dropped but they still insisted that we had caused damage to the property (please if you are moving into a property take pictures of EVERYTHING). This is not a review to bash this company as the house is very lovely and Ken and the landlord were quick to sort out any issues we had during our time here, there were just a few things that we were slightly disappointed with.

   Ken has always been a very responsive courteous and kind landlord. I’ve rented 2 separate properties from him both student and private. I would give a 5 stars based on him alone but the student property I’m currently residing has a few issues that could really do with resolution before I could grant the full 5 (Kitchen needs a bit of work doing and the room needs re flooring and work doing to the walls) But based on Ken he is pleasant.. warm.. contactable and always always listen to reason. I would happily rent a new property from him.
