The house is situated in beautiful surroundings. My wife and myself had a very comfortable and enjoyable three day stay. The hosts were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We were offered an extensive choice for breakfast which was very enjoyable. The room was self contained and had a bathroom with a walk in shower. We would highly recommend.

The art of the Farmhouse B&B Host lives on in Caroline and Clive at Mill Lodge. A lovely room and fabulous breakfast; both looking out over the garden and fields down to the river. Why stay in a hotel when you can instead stay in a place with character and charming hosts?

The room was clean and very cosy. It had everything we needed. Caroline and Clive were excellent hosts. The service provided by them was excellent. Breakfast was the crown of the stay. We will definitely return.

We stayed at Mill Lodge for two nights when in the area for our son’s wedding. Although using it as a base, we had enough time time to sit around and appreciate its potential as a retreat. The property is immediately off a fairly busy road, but this doesn’t intrude on the tranquility of the long garden leading to a river. There is covered seating by the river and a small garden room in which you can sit, if the weather dictates. There are two rooms and the one we used has it’s own entrance onto the garden area. It was comfortable with an excellent bed, tea, coffee, delicious biscuits and (if you really must!) Freeview tv and fast WiFi. Breakfast was superb, with excellent choice, served in the garden room. A particular delight were the fresh eggs from the owners’ own hens. The owners, Caroline and Clive, were very welcoming and had helpful suggestion for eating out, etc. Mill Lodge is an excellent choice for simply retreating, relaxing and unwinding or as a base for exploring the surrounding area. Caroline and Clive ensured that it was all COVID secure, although hopefully that will not be an issue for too much longer! We are already making plans to return. Read less

My wife and I stayed overnight to break our journey down to Cornwall. Caroline and Clive couldn't do enough for us even recommending somewhere nearby for us to eat in the evening. Our room was very comfortable and very well furnished with a lovely ensuite and and Mill Lodge is in such a beautiful setting. An added bonus was the good weather which enabled us to enjoy breakfast by the river. Absolutely delightful.
